YAY. I've been watching the mini-trailers. They're no substitute for having the game, but pass the time. 65% more bullet per bullet.

9am their time is afternoon here, factor in the inevitable delay and you've got late afternoon early evening. Fingers Crossed.

Valve are complete and utter genius:

Now that's how to run a marketing campaign...

But it was only £23.98.

So if I play defence grid the awakening it will unlock portal 2 faster...?
Great marketing.

Edit: I upgraded my computer last week and reinstalled steam into the same folder. It seems none of the one in the potato sack will activate and it asks me to try again later. Not so great. Tested Droplitz to see if it's all games or not and it started fine. Their servers must be getting hammered.

So whos getting this come Friday? I know I am.
Anyone fancy some co-op?

Completing the 2 new defence grid levels (one has a cool portal them and features Glados) unlocks some usernames and passwords. (I missed them the first time round...but second time round I was ready with F12 - a really useful new feature of steam). Anyway, there are a whole load of clues and hints and mini-games (I think beating the TonyLanche game is going to be incredibly tough - the AI is pretty good).

Has anyone found stuff like this in other potato sack games?

Maybe it is bringing the postal ones forward.

Just got a "dispatched" email from Zavvi.

As soon as it arrives get it registered and installed. You don't want to be one of the poor suckers left trying to download the thing as it's released.

I've a horrible feeling that just getting the damn thing to unlock is going to be painful enough - Valve's servers are scheduled to take quite a beasting.

 I have to work.

Everyone else has gone of to Cern and left me running this lab. I'll give it a go tonight when I get back from climbing. What do you think of it so far ghost? (I'm presuming it has managed to unlock in the time since 8am)

About 2 hours ish in. Its a good game not too sure whether its worth the money we paid in the two pack yet though t-bag.

If i'd bought it on steam for £29.99 I'd be a bit annoyed as it seems a bit easy.

Really enjoying it so far. (I managed to leave uni early so had time to play 45mins before climbing). It's exactly how I expected it to be. The sense of humour is as good as the trailers and the story telling is done well again. So far I think it's worth every penny.

The disk versions of steam games usually arrive pretty sharpish (from Amazon at least) with valve games because there's no risk of piracy. I guess you've just been unlucky with the jiggling of release dates. Anyway...does anyone think they'll be up for a game of coop tomorrow (or early tonight if I'm around)? Just completed the single player and want to get started.

Portal 2 has arrived, but still not happy.

Damn car just stopped on me a mile from home and started peeing diesel all over the place, loads of it and hard to spot where from in a TD4 engine bay as there isn't much room to fiddle in there. Realised that it only did it when ignition was in run position, so it's being fed from the fuel pump. Luckily I was parked half on the kerb where it really poured, so away from where motorbikes will travel.

Noticed most of the mess was around the fuel filter, so started tracing pipes all over. Anyway, managed to fix it enough to get home and have a proper crack at it.

So here's the list of stuff I found........

1. No clip on the hose.
2. Fuel filter assembly held on by tie wraps.
3. Whole thing had dropped away from mounting plate, put stress on the pipe and popped it.

Damn "bodge it" service.

Anyway, now put a proper fix in place, jubilee clip now on the hose, fuel filter assembly properly mounted and secured in place on it's slots and a screw, tie wraps thrown away.

Now, off to fill the tank again, must have dropped a fair few litres over the mile I was powering along, running off the stuff left in the fuel filter system.

Never use Jubilee clips on fuel hose, only use petrol clips they compress more evenly, where as a Jubilee will turn into a oval shape and let in air or out fuel. As you've noticed a common rail engine has positive pressure from a lift pump in the tank which will prevent air getting in while running, but when you park up the air can get in and all your fuel will head back to the tank and it'll be a pain in the arse to start (or it'll just **** fuel everywhere).

As for how it happened in the first place I'd have serious words with whoever did that service.

Now that that's out of the way go play with some portals.

Steve Merchant as the voice of Wheatly definitely makes the game a lot better, loved the thing.

The messed up companion cubes are great when they start wandering off.

Will be fun to see where they go from here for 'Portal 3'.

I need to do the finale again as I'm sure I missed something in the cutscene in the lift.

Now need to find out what the Co-Op storyline is like.

His role was great, it's unusual to have a computer game which has story, acting, comedy and playability.

As for co-op. There is no story, just a series of tests. That's not saying it's not fun, Glados still entertains.

Err - yes there is. Did you not complete it?

In other news, there's new DLC coming out for Portal 2 in the summer and its going to be free!

Yup, but I still don't think it's a story. Complete several of these independent tests, now you can access these, rinse, repeat. And then on the last one:
Open a vault door (by completing an isolated test) and see a video
I enjoyed it and I don't think it would have been any better with a storyline because it's more about player interaction with player than it is with the game. If that were a single player campaign though the reviews would have flagged up a lack of any real storyline.

I'm looking forward to the DLC now. Really glad it's going to be free. As the review says the robot outfits in game are a silly price, I was a little worried they'd lost touch with their roots and we'd have to fork out cash for the DLC.

Edit: Can't get the spoiler to work for me. I've left it in just in case it works for other people.

6 Extra levels free when you buy the Razer Hydra (http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.228849000) which looks like a seriously impressive bit of kit. I've only watched the portal 2 demo but it looks impressive. It looks like it would be formidable in a GTA type game (driving and shooting without constantly switching between controlled and mouse), not sure if I'd ditch my mouse for it in a faster paced FPS yet though.

List of supported games isn't too bad...all depends on the level of support: List (http://www.razerzone.com/minisite/hydra/supportedGames)
