While this somewhat scary story relates to Apple it's something than in theory any phone maker/mobile network could employ. Google even has an opt in version with it's Latitude service, but at least that's only opt in.
So turn off your iPhone now and hit it with hammers and stuff.... :blink:
The only surprise for me is it wasn't hidden better.
