yes yes i know, but anyone else watch it?
Wasn't planning on watching it, thought it would be boring etc, but had it on in the background and I started to watch it
Thought it was really good actually (apart from all the talk before and after which is to be expected) Nice traditional one and great event :thumb: Glad i watched it :)
Yep, I watched it, enjoyed all off it, just been down my folks house to see how there day has been only to find the street party still going.
We might be useless at lots of things in the uk, but we sure know how to do pomp & stuff like this.
Rule Britannia.
Watched some of the cars arrive and them walk up to the alter, but that's about it apart from seeing the bit where they left Buck' House in the open top sports car on the news.
But the same thing was going through my mind, we do in reality what the film makers can never pull off realistically in the movies and that's why the monarchy will continue to pull in all the tourists and respect that foreign countries still hold for us.
That's a good thing by the way.
As a couple they are more modern and a hell of a lot more convincing as a loving couple than his parents were.
Charisma, back in the royal family...... skipping Charlie would be a good idea when Lizzie finally abdicates.
Although... Andy and Fergie also seemed good at the time, oh my god, it's all over...
People complain of the cost of the monarchy when a big event like this comes around, but when you see that many people turn up (many from abroad) you know they're bringing in a bucket load of money. That's not even counting all the tacky merchandise that will be sold. The rest of the time they're a steady tourist lure, the reason why London is the number 1 most visited city in the world (by a huge margin).
I'm personally a huge fan of the royals. We'll never have to fall back on military rule if there's a power struggle, or politicians have the benefit of decades of experience through weekly meetings, and we get to show the Americans what they're missing. I only watched the ceremony itself, but boy that was special (if a bit religiously oriented for my tastes).
Saw none of it at all. Stuck CDs on rather than listen to the radio just in case I heard some of it.
Bah humbug!
At least I got a day off and I'd rather spend it not watching them getting married.

As a staunch republican I made sure I missed the lot. That and the fact I was working in Birmingham today photographing semi naked catwalk models. Well someone has to do it.

Photos or it never happened!
Well I watched some of it and quite enjoyed it.
I thought it made a nice change that we managed to do something 'right' for once.
Did not watch it. Instead spent the day with a few dmw mates board gaming, eating, drinking and then in the evening off to see Thor and drink pitchers of long island ice-tea.
Seemed more fun than the wedding.
