I Have all the latest drivers installed, i also recently ran Catalyst 11.4 drivers and driver sweeper and it started playing BF:BC2 again fine.
Just tried to populate the server and I got the blue screen again, im not really too sure why this is happening.
Any form of help would be much appreciated.
Becuase im not sure weather to just go out and spank some money on a new pc or replace parts.
When does it tend to blue screen? If it is when gaming it might be a simple matter of over-heating in a midi-case during this warmer period of weather.
Run a temperature monitor because as TeaLeaf says it could well be over heating. ATi cards generally run fairly hot compared to similar NVidia cards (this isn't a particularly bad thing in general, but can cause problems if you stick the computer in a corner with poor air flow in this recent weather).
It might also be worth playing with game settings, seeing if you can find a stable combination, that might say more about the problem.
As previously stated, check your temps, if ATI gpu's run to hot the driver resets and sometimes causes BSOD if the driver is to long on recovering.
Could you post what the BSOD states, there is typically a line which tells whats wrong.
And have you tried a reinstall?
Roll back to an older driver.
Do i go into BIOS to check temps? also the pc is in a very poorly ventalated place so wouldnt be too surprised if it is due to over heating. I'm not too sure what driver to roll it back too, ive browsed the net and vaguely remember alot of people having the same problem and they rolled back to an older drive and the problem was solved, will have to look into it a bit more and get you an update.
I'm going to try and play BF:BC2 now and see what happens
EDIT: 17:30 started up bad company 2 connectect to server tried to respawn game crashed.
17:46 rolled graphics card to previous driver will see what happens when i try to play bc2 again
Is the Asus ATI Radeon HD 5450 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card a low profile (half height) fan-less one?
One of the first things you can do is to see check the windows error logs to see if it is your GPU. If it is then you can thing about moving any other PCI-E cards you have in there out of the way (if something is in the 2 slots below).
With more details I may be able to help more.

not sure how i check windows error log? also i managed to get almost a game of bc2 before pc died, my screen turned completely white and when i managed to get back onto desktop it said that internet explorer was not responding (not the actull explorer but the process that runs the computer)
If you're having case ventilation troubles then this case will fix everything. It's huge, but impossible not go get great airflow. Corsair 600T (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-026-CS&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=1489)
(It's probably complete over kill, but changing cases could be an easy fix if it is heat related...put enough ventilation in a case and no matter where it is it will run pretty cool).
Yes but thats the thing i dont actully know whats causing this...seems to run every other game find up until now (bf2 series, tropico 3, prototype etc)

You have a half height card in there which isn't really designed for gaming on as its low profile and low power consumption. Its designed for media PC's (watching Videos) and not gaming. Saying that it shouldn't be crashing your OS.
Getting a new GFX card (if that is the problem) would improve your performance a lot and as this card is so cheap and old there is no point putting and after-market cooler on it as you can buy a better one for the same price. Check if you are using DX11 , 10 or 9 on the different games. It may be something simple as forcing games you are having troubles with to use different settings.
Good luck.

I've ended up buying a new graphics card, psu, some more ram 2gb and a fan instead so should be able to run everything fine just gotta wait for them to come now
From what I read running driver sweeper these days isn't such a good idea either, it apparently has a habit of removing windows files, if your upgrading to new drivers just install over the top of the old ones, ot if you really feel the need to just run the uninstaller on them 1st & then install, but from what I've read Windows 7 & driver sweeper don't get along.
Not that it's much help, just thought I'd mention it.
