The server files are now available this morning within Steam.
I'd like us to be ready for launch in the UK (13th May) but its already available in the USA.
Please can you setup a Brink Server as soon as possible so we are ready to go when day one rolls round?
The game looks like something we can adopt.
I have been inside the game and it provides both co-op for singleplayer and ability for LAN servers.
Reckon we can be live on launch day?
Thanks!
I've logged the request in the server admin section.
Just a quick update. We a Brink server installed and running on BA4 port 27015. We're just checking firewall config for the authentication and then should be in a position to announce the new server.
Any admin tools available for this thing?
Apparently you can use HLSW to RCON the Brink dedicated server: http://www.fragworld.org/frag/brink/brink-server-admin-and-gsp-guide.html
There's a bit more info in Splash Damage's server documentation: http://files.fragworld.org/Brink%20-%20Windows%20Dedicated%20Server%201.1.pdf
Ahh, a server you can actually configure yourself. It's just like the good old days.
It looks like the same tool they use to use for wolfenstein and wolfenstein enemy territory.
Hopefully we will be playing on dmw tomorrow night then?
Shall we make a ts channel too?
Currently some issues with the stability of the dedicated server. It was updated again this morning and this version is still streaming errors through console and not responding to rcon. If you want to try and find it, it's up as dMw Brink on 77.108.135.49:27015 but not showing for me atm in the server list.
If it appears stable we'll post it up on the open part of the forum.
Ooooooh look at this synergy in action.
nice one chaps.
Brink server is still offline.
Is there anything we can do to fix it?
Would we consider renting a server?
We have alot of people with the game now.
I don't want to loose momentum as homefront failed and with the amount of players buying brink I want to provide something for them dmw wise at least for us to try.
So do we sit and wait for a fix or rent one?
As far as I can tell from reading around, we're not the only people with issues. The problem seems to be beta software sold as gold.

Couldn't agree more. Brink is several large patches away from what I would call a 'finished' state. How they could miss bugs that ruin performance on ATI cards (did they only test on Nvidia hardware?), or that stop everyone's sound on a particular map (did they not test that particular level?) is beyond me.
There are also deeper gameplay issues that concern me. The level design in alot of the maps is pretty dreadful, with most games boiling down to a giant clusterf*ck around a single chokepoint.
Unless we see the horrible bugs fixed, and some new/improved maps, I can't see Brink lasting beyond BF3's release date. Which is a damn shame, because there's alot of potential underneath the wreckage :(
well I gave it a bash last night and I agree that it is very unpolished.
Quite a shame considering I splashed out for it. :(
Likewise.
