I was delighted to find a new version of DXE today, brought up to date by a guy at Harlequins (Dethecus-EU). I've got it installed and will be giving it a run on Thursday night's raid.
Download it here (http://code.google.com/p/harlequins-dxe/downloads/list)
I've opened it up in game and it appears to be every bit as functional as the old DXE in WotLK was, so I'm looking forward to a cleaner UI, less bossmod spam and much better customisation of timers and warnings again!
<<
Quick Question, What is it?
It's a bossmod like BigWigs or DBM. The main differentiator is the clean look, minimal spam and highly customisable warnings/timers per individual ability.
It was my preferred boss mod in WotLK and probably the most used boss mod in high end raiding, but the original DXE was never updated for Cata. This is an update (with original author's permission) for Cata.
Whilst I have not tried this version in a raid yet, if it is anything like as good as the original then it will be highly recommended.

Features
General
This DXE Version has been slightly altered to allow some boss encounters in Cataclysm to start correctly. Otherwise all known DXE features are still present and working. The famous "target" function for encounters where a meteor/fire/shitfromsky is cast on a player without an actual combat log entry has been modified. It now works the same (even better) as BigWigs.
Encounters available
All Cataclysm raid encounters are available and tested for WoW 4.1
ToDo
Encounters
Fix strange bugs, if there are any left
DXE
Localization for deDE (and possibly other languages)
Keep encounters up-to-date and provide some basic timers in a timely fashion when new content is released.
Does it support pre-cata raids and 5 mans?
Pre-Cata raids yes, some, not older vanilla as DXE did not exist back then. 5 mans is a no, this is a raid addon. Who needs boss mods for 5 mans anyway?
I've not run stonecore since 4.0.1, but DBM was helpful for me to tank orzuk
DXE does not announce who is fixed by the toxitron adds, which is why I did not announce it. Instead, it will apply a raid icon and/or flash the screen - at least i think this is what the code does.
As tank, does this mean I stick with DBM for the trons?
Entirely up to you. It's what works best for you and what you like the look of on your UI.

Currently I am liking DXE after using it last night as after a discussion with the author i have a custom macro to get a DXE arrow pointing to Whytee so I know where he is during the nef encounter. So if I'm tanking toxi, don't expect me to call out who's targeted by his adds.
Is he adding the macro to the addon or are you sharing....?
He wont add such a feature to DXE as you need to know the name of the tank.
Here's the macro
/run local unit,dur,a,msg,s="Whytee",180,"TOWARD","text",""; DXE.Arrows:AddTarget(unit,dur,a,msg,s)
The project has now been moved to curse to supersede the old DXE.
Big woot!
