Title: Brink TGL?
Post by: GhostMjr on May 14, 2011, 10:31:02 AM
Hi all,

Wondered whether one of the existing GL's can help with pimping the new brink server.

The majority of people either have it or its in the post.

So does anyone fancy volunteering? :P

I thought Tut might be a good TGL however he's very busy with work currently.

So the servers ready to go its just a case of getting numbers on the server.

I don't want this to be another homefront so we need to work quickly to get a team together who can give this game a good shot!

Thanks :)

This is something that was covered off at the last GL meeting.

The process is that we see a game, we launch a server, if it has legs we decide to adopt it, at that point Council then consider a GL.  In the interim, it was agreed at the GL Meeting that we would take a cooperative approach for new games that we are trying out so the responsibility is on all GLs to do what they can.  Let's face it, we don't even have a stable server or satisfactory rcon tool atm so having an admin team is a bit OTT atm.  If the game turns out to be more than a flash in the pan, has sufficient volume and interest, then we can then put an infrastructure in place to support it, but we'll not know that for a while yet.

In the mean time GLs need to do what they can to try the game, admin it when you are online (in whatever way you can) and see how the game progresses.  HLSW allegedly connects to the servers, but I've yet to get rcon to work properly on this game.

Rcon password for our server is dMwBrinked

Aye I agree with TL.

At the LAN we discussed and agreed the format for new games, adoption and their roll out.

If everyone who is happy to can jump on play it and admin it we'll quickly see if this is a winner or not. Putting a permanent admin team in place is something we'll do once it's agreed to adopt it.
