Just a quick note for anyone suffering from game drops, normally arma 2 likes to work the arse of your cpu/cpu's just the same as arma 1 before and even OFP, the engine is coded this way due to draw distance and huge environment stresses/ai scripting etc.
There was an early cpu shootout here http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,687620/ArmA-2-tested-Benchmarks-with-18-CPUs/Practice/ (http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,687620/ArmA-2-tested-Benchmarks-with-18-CPUs/Practice/) but if anyone wants to keep an eye on there cpu stress and even an on screen temp readout for each cpu core then give Playclaw a try, i forget who recommended this to me for screenshots and video recording but its a hell of an app for free. Another good thing would be if someone is rich enough for a six core cpu from either manufacturer could they report how there cores are running and at what temp [with a screenshot of course],this would enable other members to select there next cpu purchase a lot easier and also we could see who is winning the race between the 2 cpu manufacturers on a bang for buck basis.
PS im in the market for a new cpu now hence this helpfull post!
