Quote from: Jamin;326310Have we enough players to have our own game?
They run the servers and therefore we do not run our own.  The way it works is sort of like this:

You get 3 starter tanks: 1xRussian, 1xGerman, 1xUSA
You select one of your tanks to play and Join Battle - the server puts you into the next battle slot with other players on the network (2 sides, variety of maps and a variety of tank types).
The better you do in battle, the more experience and credits you get to research and buy upgrades for you tanks.  Ultimately if you research one tank sufficiently you become able to buy a completely new tank, the next tank up in the progression.
As soon as your tank is destroyed you can return to your 'depot' and jump into on of the other tanks and jump into a new battle (whilst the old battle continues to play out to its conclusion).
You can set up Platoons with others and then you join battles as a group/party.
The tanks come in a variety of types: heavy, medium,. light, tank destroyers, artillery, etc.
The coop element comes in working with the other types of tanks in the most effective way.
When we're on TS we tend to use mutually beneficial tank types to support each other, so if I am in a tank desroyer or artillery then someone else is in a light/medium fast tank to act as a spotter/scout for me to fire at etc.  We'll then work on a specific objective for that map - perhaps base defending, heading for the oppositions artillery and trying to take them out, pushing through a bottleneck etc.

Hope that explains it.

Cheers for the info TL....but...

You can run your own game in training mode, plus you can tick the box marked "by invite only" then invite anyone in your contacts list. It's exactly the same as battle mode except you don't get credits.

Been playing this since before the weekend and am really enjoying it. OK, it's a bit like Counterstrike with tanks - no complicated team tactics here - but it's easy fun.

I thought you guys would like it - just how many of you are playing it?

All the best...

Hi TL will keep an eye out for you - we play in a Platoon - which as you know is limited to just 3 players - which sucks. We may look at joining a tank company further down the line.

So what tanks have you guys got?

I have a KV, M3 Lee, M4 Sherman, Easy8 Sherman and just bought USA Arty (Tier 2) - I'm really enjoying this game.

Magnus is a tank whore and has US T29, KV, IS24(?) Arty and god knows what else, Range and Paddy have both gone for russian TDs, but have now branched out ... We are all premium members.

What tanks you guys using?

Stug, Pzkf IV and a Hummel.  Playing as dMwTealeaf.  Premium too - no way I'd grind the xp to get these tanks in 20 days if it were not for Premium!  Sticking to German tree all the way for the moment, going to branch the Pzkf down the heavy tank route for the next (h)tank, the VK3601.

Just read this on the home page -

QuoteFrom now on anyone can create a platoon for two without investing either gold or credits. Premium accounts are not necessary.

The feature will definitely be appreciated by World of Tanks players.

Nevertheless to invite the third player a platoon leader needs to be a premium account owner.

D/l'd this today and started a game.
don't have a clue what I'm doing.
Is it normal that I can't see other tanks? I just see the diamond above them and a shadow where the tank should be.
Enemies are similar, just a red diamond and a red outline occasionally.

So... late last night (or early this morning) after a bit of beer and little sleep, I checked the WoT clan page. Seems someone already nabbed the DMW tag (they only allow upper case), so I snagged -DMW-. Ragnarh then informed me I should have checked with you guys first, and of course I should.
Anyway, the tag is up. Went to modify it, but they've disabled modifying clan tags and names in the beta. They've also got some annoying limitations (upper case only, max 5 characters, and they add [] to the outside regardless of what you put in the tag. that pretty much means -=[dMw]=- is impossible, [-DMW-] or [=DMW=] is as close as we can get.

Anyway, it's there and available. Just sign up in the .eu clan site (I think it's uc.worldoftanks.eu), and I'll approve you guys. I'll also give away the commander spot if possible to the person designated clan commander by you guys, since I know ****-all about running a clan :p

A little something for the weekend -

QuoteOperation Avalanche played a significant role in WWII. The main objectives of the Operation were to seize the port of Naples to ensure resupply, and to cut across to the east coast, trapping the Axis troops further south. On 9th of September, about 450 ships partaking in Operation Avalanche assembled off the Salerno coast. The fighting units had sailed from various places, and in order to achieve surprise, there was no preliminary naval or aerial bombardment.

World of Tanks is glad to inform tankers that the Operation Avalanche Special will be held within World of Tanks from September 9th till September 12th!

Starting from 5:30 UTC, September 9th, and till 5:00 UTC, September 12th, all our brave tankers will enjoy the following offers:

Crew training rates doubled!
The exprerience for the first victory of the day increases by 5 (!) times!
50% discount on slots!
Do not miss the great opportunity to enhance the crew training and stock up with more space for your steel beasts!

Enjoy the Special and stay tuned!

Well, looks like I might buy myself a few more slots then!

Crew training is nice, but seeing 5 times experience on first victory of the day per tank is huge.  I'm seeing 5-6k experience from a win which is some valuable.  I'll be back tomorrow!

Nah, it's simple.  Drive a tank and shoot stuff.  The more damage you do, the more experience points you get to research & buy new upgrades your tank.  When your tank is a proper blinged crib then you get to buy a bigger better tank.   Rinse and repeat.  The variety comes in the different types of tanks available:  light, medium, heavy, artillery, tank destroyers etc.   15v15 matches sort the rest.

TS is a good place to camp out for this game.  If others join you can crete a platoon with up to three people in it so you can go around in a team.   We'll get you hooked up with the dMw tank company too.

I've only a Pz IV to play with.

Shame there's no British tanks for historical accuracy from XXX Corps' involvement.

Not that it matters, I suffer death from all causes, small arms fire and staplers. I took severe damage from a papercut yesterday.

Got a 3601 and pushing toward PzVI territory, then read the stock tigger is a pig and research everything you can in advance from the 3601. I just want an L/71 88, seeing as you can't get a 17pdr.

Post by: RizZy on October 18, 2011, 11:44:49 AM
Yea the stock tiger can be a bit iffy, but then pretty much every tank I've had is a bit iffy stock, once you get the big gun on it, it gets a bit more fun, play it the same as the 3601, keep your distance & pick things off - think of german tanks as the snipers of the games - preferrably you want to keep out of closr combat with things the same size/bigger than you.

The 3601 is worth fully researching anyway as it's usually stated to be about the best medium in game.

QuoteNorthern Africa, the land of the baking sun shining over the windy sand dunes, became the lair of the theater of operations during WWII. Its most massive and stiffest battle was Second Battle of El Alamein, which took place October 23 â€" November 4, 1942 in El Alamein, a town lying 106 kilometres (66 mi) west of Alexandria and 240 kilometres (149 mi) northwest of Cairo.

That time Allied forces broke the Axis line and forced them all the way back to Tunisia. The battle marked a major turning point in the Western Desert Campaign of the Second World War, when Lieutenant-General Bernard Montgomery took command of the British Eighth Army from General Claude Auchinleck in August 1942 and the Allied victory turned the tide in the North African Campaign. It ended Axis hopes of occupying Egypt, taking control of the Suez Canal, and gaining access to the Middle Eastern oil fields.

Further, Winston Churchill said of that victory: "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." And after the war, he wrote: "Before Alamein we never had a victory. After Alamein, we never had a defeat."

World of Tanks is pleased to announce the special to be held this weekend in commemoration of the Allies' noble deeds at El Alamein those days. So stay tuned for more details about the offers and see you on the battlefields!

Looks like another weekend gone then.

Ok, I've been meaning to post this for ages but kept forgetting, DuVels just reminded me, so I thought I better come straight here -

In game you have 2 sets of x-hairs, both looks like ^'s, go into your settings/ reticle/ gun marker - & change it to Crosshair I (with armour etc) - now when you line up on someone your see that the little + will change colour, green = good damage, amber = ok, red bad.

Also in the options untick "Enable vehicle vibration in sniper mode" now when you shoot while zoomed you view won't go crazy from the recoil.

Hope this helps a few peeps out.

Some info from Overlords blog on the 7.0 update -

QuoteThoughts on the Upcoming 7.0
The major 7.0 update that has been in development for quite a while has almost made it to the finish straight, awaiting public tests (though it may take up to 3 weeks). Initial preview of 7.0 update can be found in the In Development section of the official websites.

I won't repeat the info given there, only share my thoughts on the key features and less noticeable stuff.

Massive Hitbox Overhaul

Nearly 30 vehicles (Tiger, VK 3002 DB, IS-3, IS-7) will get their hitboxes changed to ensure more accurate damaging mechanics. Tiger tank will finally get more detailed armor layout featuring 16 groups and benefit from skirt armor.

Map Debugging

Seems that we haven't done away with them so far, but this is definitely step in the right direction. It is going to be much more difficult to get stuck now.

Multi-cluster technology

It might not bring noticeable changes especially for EU and US players at the time of its introduction. But it is going to be extremely useful in two ways:
it will help us cope with overload of RU server (in peak times it has more than 235k players) allocating the load between several independent servers within RU region
the feature has really great potential and it would be impossible to merge clan wars or enable account transfers without it

Customize it!

The camos announced as a a part of vehicle customization functionality long time ago finally arrives in 7.0 (there will be lots of screenies in the days to come). As for horns, we are still thinking of them. :)

Tiered Companies

Instead of one single company battle mode (10/90), we are getting 4 - 4/45, 6/50, 8/90, and 10/150 (where 10 - max vehicle tier, 150 - max team tier points).

There will be separate restrictions on light tanks and SPGs. E.g. for 4/45 submode it is planned to restrict both SPGs and LTs to tier 3.

Report it!

Being harassed in-game or noticed some unfair play? RMB click on required player in team list, choose complaint type, and submit it! Customer support will see to it ASAP.

Mini-map v.2.0

Highly anticipated improvements, no doubt. It will be possible to scale the mini-map, toggle it on/off in battle, adjust its transparency, and we also added markers for Help!, Follow me! and Attacking! commands.

Tracers, anyone?

They are back, however not exactly the way they used to work.
for LTs, MTs, HTs, TDs: tracers will be shown within 25 deg / 445 sector in the direction of the gun
for SPGs: tracers will be shown for tanks that are within view range in howitzer mode
For sure we would like to reintroduce 100% tracer effects, however safety and fair play are even of major importance. So as to combat cheating, we have to bring them back this way.

Don't rage quit!

If you leave the battle before it ends (and your vehicle is safe and sound), it will be locked until the end of the battle, giving your enemies chance for easy kill (exp/credits). If somehow it makes to the end of the battle, the tank will be blown up automatically. Full repair costs, yes. :)

Balance Above All

They will be many balance adjustments in the upcoming update, the detailed patch notes will arrive upon the public release. Now I'm going to stop on a few curious things.
T-44 is getting LB-1 gun (for 2nd turret) with the same specs as of T-54 barring RoF (slight decrease). This is aimed at bringing the tank on a par with the other tier 8 MTs (God help my poor M26 :( ).
Conical gun will be nerfed on VK3601H, Tiger is getting this gun as it is now.
Changed shells for 8.8 L/71 gun. Yes, damage increase is planned. However the current DPM will be retained.
IS-3 is getting a new turret for stock setup, the existing stock turret goes to top setup. T-10 turret is reserved for future. :)

Graphics

New special effects including shots, hits, explosions are coming to provide better visualization. In addition to it we are introducing in-game colour-blind mod and option to disable smoke effects to ensure smoother performance.

More details will come in the weeks ahead.

We've hit them hard!

There will be changes to penetration mechanics. First of, we are reducing the normalization parameter of AP and APCR shells, therefore the effectiveness of sloped armor will see an increase.
Also the new mechanics for HE will be in place (defining the spot with the thinnest armor to burn through), ensuring more realistic and credible penetration and damaging.

Interesting stuff, 30 hitboxes shows a degree of thought on damage mechanics. Would be nice to have some other colours apart from panzergrau, dunkelgelb and ambush patterns please.

And I got the big engine for my 3601 today, now just another 45000XP for a Tiger.

Tank destroyers can give you a lot of malicious pleasure as you start to damage tanks well above your own tier (Löwes seem to suffer then most, and quite right too)!

Of course, there are the down sides, if those mediums get behind you then you are so much scrap metal. But hopefully your team mates will do their job.

When I got my SU-100 I *really* started to think I had a tank killer. The 100 is a mean looking machine and makes you feel the part, even though the su-85 shared many of design features that became the norm for TDs.

The key is what modules you chose to equip your TD with - you need the camo net, rammer and binoculars of course. But working your crew up to optimum training is crucial. I have the camo net AND crew camo training at 100%, so I tend to be a very nasty surprise for any oncoming tank! :norty: But some people recommend that when you get your 100% camo training that you can remove your camo net and replace it with the coated optics to help you spot.

Unfortunately you will now probably suffer from 'TD fever' - that constant obsession for a bigger and bigger gun so you can annoy those bigger heavies! I have no doubt you have already identified which tank you feel is your nemesis - with me it was Tiger IIs and then the E75 when that came out. I also got involved - as a Soviet TD fan - in a bit of a duel with the enemy Ferdinands.

It's a long grind from now on and I wish you luck. The one thing I can say is that sometimes in WoT you find you are disappointed when you finally get a tank you have worked hard to get - this isn't true of the upper Soviet TDs - the ISU-152 and the mighty Object 504 are as bad-ass as you imagine they are! :D

Above: My Object 704 with the infamous BL-10 (152mm). The colour patches are from an overlay I use to help identify weak points in WoT tanks.

Good luck!

Big gun envy can get you big-stylee in WoT, I had the same on my TD!

Re the overlay:
Where the overlays are used for education purposes to learn about the tanks & their weakspots I think it's a fantastic idea.  Being able to visualise the weak points is essential and it makes a big difference to your performance when you hit the enemy in the right place.  However, I'd personally be against using any coloured skin set like your picture in-game.  It's akin to allowing a glowing head skin in Counterstrike to assist headshot aiming - which is something we never ever allowed back in the day.  So I'll be sticking to my dull grey/black/brown standard skin sets and will be using the coloured pictures that are available on the web only for educating me out of game as to where I should be aiming by barrel!

The use of the overlay in game is an issue that gets bandied about a lot - some say it's 'cheating'...This is complete nonsense.

Historically tank crews were taught in training to identify enemy tank weakspots. This was fine duing WW2 where the average tank crew would only expect to come upon two or three main enemy types. During D-Day, for example, the average US Army Sherman crew might expect to come across Pzr IV, Panther and Tiger - the gunner would be completely wise to the weak spots in all three of these types...

In World of Tanks, however, you can expect to come across a total of 116 tanks (not even including SPGs)!!!

Using the overlay is a means of re-ballancing the historical ability of crews to be able to recognize opposing points of weakness...

Of course if you can remember off hand 116 different configerations of tank weak spots - then you are a better man than I Gunga Din! ;)

Nope, not swayed by anything and BSG doesn't grab me. The Tiger now has a decent engine and short 88 on it. The SU-100 has a new engine and tracks and is very nippy with the uprated 85mm.

Also still playing in between BF3 - finally got my Tiger II - fully upgraded except for the last gun. I'm working my way towards the E75 which just seems a beast when I play against it.

Like Ranger I also enjoy using my BL-10 on my ISU TD.

Still enjoy playing :) Its a slower pace than bf3 which isn't a bad thing.

The skins don't really aid visibility that much, given there's a glowing symbol over each tank, like the Sims, making each quite easy to spot. They are a substitute for experience though, which in time, you'd learn. That makes them an aid and I'm only use them as a teaching tool and never in game.

Having just paid a ton of cash for the Tiger, Fazer, you probably won't want to read this -

QuoteAll roads lead to Rome, quite literally. For the Allied Forces it was no Yellow Brick Road. The Axis had a series of heavily fortified lines, which ran across Italy blocking AF advancements to Rome. It took time, massive man and gun power as well as relentless determination and some ingenious strategic planning to break though them. No campaign in Western Europe cost more than the Italian campaign in terms of lives lost and wounds suffered by infantry forces.

On the off chance there's more people still playing this than just me -

QuoteWinter always comes when you least expect it. Cold winds bring over heavy grey clouds stealing the sun and day light. And man, it is cold! Even the hottest blooded tankers get chills, gasoline cools down to a point of condensation, engine oil becomes viscid, tracks are blocked with ice, and a gun barrel grows an icicle.

Staying put and idle in this situation will lead to a certain death. Not only will you risk getting shot by a stray shell, but, most definitely, you will turn into a snow clad tank hill. The only way out is to move fast and move at all times.

No surprises that some of the major WWII action happened in freezing cold conditions: the Winter War between Finland and USSR, the Battle of Stalingrad, and the Battle of Bulge.

Rally your troops for we declare the start of the Operation Winter Assault Special. No staying behind defense lines, no hiding in ditches â€" charging forward is the only goal.

Starting at 5:30 UTC on Sunday, 4 December and until 5:00 UTC on Monday, 12 December, stock on gear and ammo for superior fire power:

Up to 58% discount on gold rounds;
60% discount on gold consumables (new price during the special - 20 gоld);
50% discount on equipment;
50% discount on garage slots purchase.
Defrost your tanks and get ready for action!

December promises to be a hot month for promos and discounts. Follow our news reel to be on the top of your game.

Hardly - in my opinion - the overlays do not make the tanks any easier to spot than they are (due to the passive base colours they use and the contrast of these base colours against the map environments that exist). All the WoT stick out like sore thumbs anyway and most importantly the overlay does not effect the camoflague module OR the distance a tank can or cannot be seen (if the enemy is camo'd well you still can't see him overlay or not).

So to recap - the overlay DOES NOT:

> Allow you to see a tank that you would not otherwise be able to see
> Does not affect the camoflague module ability
> Increase a tanks inherant visibility (as the level of contast between base colours and enviroment aready do that)

It is what it is - a visual reminder of where a particular armour weak points are.

If you were to carry the 'cheating' argument to it's logical conclusion you would have to say that the tactical guides given to tank crews during WW2 (showing these weak points) were against the Geneva Convention (and 'cheating'!). LOL

So you are saying that each tank in the game and it's weak spots are a complete mystery to everyone? Sure I follow your logic IF we were playing a game where new technology was entering the game dynamically through the campaign - so there would be a tactical advantage. But this is not the case in WoT.

ALL tanks are available from the moment you enter the game - so if you are trying to rationalize the 'authenticity' of this tactical situation you are on rocky ground as the whole foundation of the game is hardly authentic when ALL tanks through ALL periods of the war are available at the same time and thus make the authenticity argument mute.

WoT is like Monty having ALL the plans of ALL German tanks available to him BEFORE El Alamein....

...'dear chap'.

It's not a "visual reminder", it's an overlaid 3D compensated head up display. You're not having to identify the target, nor remember where that unit is vulnerable.

Realism isn't even open to discussion as when did someone last stick a blowlamp up your backside and slam your head on the desk when you were hit?

Rizzy, surely you don't expect to pay a game for free? Its only £8 a month. It would be unsustainable if it was free to play so of course the game encourages you to pay. One alternative is to buy a T59/lowe or T34 to pay for the rest of your tanks maintenance - thats what we do. I think a game that allows you to pay 80% of the game for free is incredibly generous. Would you allow people to use 80% of the products/services you provide for free?

I don't expect to be forced to pay to play a free game, people will pay for things regardless due to the fact that people want things straight away & the price they charge for things is daft, it's like £20 for a t59, that's the cost of a game for an ingame item.

Take Star Trek online as another example, you can convert ingame items into store credit, so if you play enough you can buy the same things people that spend money can, but then people still spend because they want stuff straight away without the grind.

I'm affraid a game that I really liked has lost me & it's all down to the fact that you just can't sustain the higher tier tanks just by playing them.
Title: World of Tanks
Post by: Jamin on May 30, 2012, 04:57:40 PM
I haven't payed a penny, nor am I going to, I'm still playing the Tier 2/3 tanks, fully specced and camouflaged with an elite crew on their second lot of perks and having bags of fun, I can't see the point in getting bigger and tougher tanks as the enemy will have bigger and tougher tanks too.

The frustrating bit is the game mechanics that are rumored to decide at the start which team is going to win, I can usually work out if I'm on the losing side if the first few well aimed shots cause 0dmg, I played a game recently where I was hidden and fired over 35 shells into a stationary pz at 300 mtrs and did NO damage whatsoever despite seeing the white hit flash and being told "penetration" "that's gotta hurt" etc, plus I once sat in the enemy base as the last player on my side firing into a pz that was afk until the 100 second countdown ended but caused very little damage. If I'm on the winning side, I can't miss for trying and can hit stuff from over 500mtrs whilst moving, last night I killed 9 out of the 15 enemy all on my own in one game :)

Post by: Jamin on May 30, 2012, 10:26:15 PM
Don't pay anything then, what is it you are looking for in a game? I look for fun and WOT can provide that in bucket fulls if you learn how to outwit the enemy, running circles around a higher tier tank firing shells into it whilst it desperately tries to turn it's turret towards you, or sneaking around to the rear of the enemy base to a hiding spot, then picking the preoccupied enemy off one by one is hilarious :D

Not to mention those poor arti guys who can't turn quickly and are ripe for driving right up to their behind and keep bashing into them for a while before pumping a few shells into their desperate to get away ass, like a cat with a mouse :lmfao:

Or parking up behind an enemy afk in the enemy base so the enemy ends up team killing while you rack up cap points....etc.

Grinding your way up the tiers is tedious.
Title: World of Tanks
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 31, 2012, 07:59:31 AM
Most of my higher tanks just about pay for themselves, but I still run around in lower tier tanks to rack up the credits.   So you don't need and are not forced to pay for anything.   The Top tier German tank destroyer is more than paying for itself even after a losing battle, so long as you actually bothered ot hit something decent then the resupply & repair costs are usually less than the credit winnings.
Title: World of Tanks

Title: World of Tanks
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 31, 2012, 09:46:56 AM
If it helps, target selection seems to make a difference to what you get paid.   Kill a low-ranked tank and you'll get less credits for the kill than the shell cost you.  Put the same shell into a top tier tank and you'll get your money back.  At least, that's what it seems to me.
Title: World of Tanks
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 31, 2012, 11:28:31 AM

E75 tank
For match WIN: 55,260 credits
Less cost of:
Repair: 16,448
Resupply Ammo: 7,490
Resupply consumables: 6,000 (minor repair kit, minor first aid kit)

That's a net gain of 25,322 credits for a Tier 9 heavy tank in a winning battle.
Title: World of Tanks
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 31, 2012, 12:04:59 PM
Example:

Jagtiger tank destroyer

Resupply Ammo: 11,340
Resupply consumables: 3,000 (minor repair kit, minor first aid kit)

That's a net gain of 9,539 credits for a Tier 9 tank destroyer in a losing battle.

Spotting the enemy, defending your base, capping and staying alive even if your team loses all earn lots of credits plus the first victory of the day in one tank doubles your credits for that game, so make sure that if you look like winning then go berserk and hit any enemy you see, then swap tanks to get the double points in that tank, etc. Tactics like hiding and letting the enemy cap your base up to 90+% then shoot at them to reset the timer can give loads of defense credits.

I've figured out why my results are so different.  I'd forgotten that I had purchased a month's premium membership which doubles your credit return.  So the non-premium result would have been:

E75 tank
For match WIN: 27,630 55,260 credits
net loss of 2,308 credits for a Tier 9 heavy tank in a winning battle.

Jagtiger tank destroyer
For match LOSS: 40,630 credits
net loss of 10,766 credits for a Tier 9 tank destroyer in a losing battle.

So you're right, higher tier tanks are more expensive, but then I could cut that loss and turn winning matches into profit by not using consumables (3000 credits per pop).  Apologies for my confusing examples, I had forgotten I had done a month's premium!

Become a really good player do more damage you do the more silver you get - so the better you play the more you'll earn. HOwever you'll often still lose due to your team no matter how well you play.
Play lower levels and try and earn money with that to finance your higher tiers.
Stop being tight and buy premium but you've decided you'd rather not contribute.

The dMw Tank Company has a rather awesome clan logo (sourced from Frenzy's anniversary design), but due to WoT being plonkers you need to delete a bunch of files in order to actually see the logo.

If you want our logo to appear on your tank, please follow these instructions.

Quote1. Make sure you have exited out of World of Tanks (close the client completely, don't just log off the server)
2. Go to "My Computer"
3. Locate your C: drive and go into it (if you don't have a C: drive, use whatever drive you installed WoT into)
4. Go into the folder labeled "Users"
5. In the top left of the browser, you'll see the word 'organize'. Click that and a drop-down menu will appear.
Click 'folder and search options'. Go to the second tab (view). In the advanced settings under 'Hidden files and folders', click 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives.'
Click apply and then ok.
6. Go into the folder that has your name on it. (If in doubt, use the folder that you installed WoT on.)
7. Go into the "AppData" folder.
8. Go into the "Roaming" folder.
9. Go into the "wargaming.net" folder.
10. Go into the "WorldOfTanks" folder. (NOT the 'WoT' folder)
11. Go into the "custom_data" folder.
12. Once inside the custom data folder, several thousand files will appear (more or less depending on how long you have been playing WoT).
13. Click once on the top file (just highlight it) and press the Control key + A to select ALL of the files.
14. Right click and delete all of the files.
15. Once that "custom_data" folder is completely empty, you can exit out of the browser and restart your WoT client.

We need 14 to make the team for the SuperCup.  Who is up for it?

Quote from: Rules
  • Teams must contain at least two tanks from every nation (French, German, US, Soviet).  But the tanks can be of any type.
  • The team roster must consist of 14 players.  You may optionally include up to 4 more players as reserves.
  • Tanks and Tank Destroyers in the team must be of Tier 6 or below.  SPGS must be of Tier 3 or below.
Only 2 light tanks per team.[/B]
  • The total number of tier points (the total value of all the tier levels of the tanks in the team added together) must be 84 or less.
  • Use of premium tanks, shells and consumables is allowed.
  • Once the team has been created, it cannot change its name.  Be careful when choosing your team name!
  • Battles last for 15 minutes.  The aim is to destroy all enemy tanks or capture their base.
  • The first round will be single elimination (best of 1).  If you lose the battle you are knocked out of the tournament!  Subsequent rounds will be best of 3 and the final will be best of 5.
  • First round battles will take place on the Mines map.  Subsequent rounds will take place on maps from a pool consisting of Mines, Abbey, Arctic Region, Himmelsdorf and Steppes.

Full rules are here (http://worldoftanks.eu/uc/tournaments/38-Super_6_Cup_/).

I'd love to buy myself a type 59 or 62, but the thought of paying that much just for an in game item doesn't sit right with me at all.

but -

QuoteWe know that you are all great tank commanders.  We know your skills on the battlefield are getting better with every battle.  Often it’s just a matter of milliseconds between your death and victory against that one last tank after rolling over the entire enemy team.

At those moments what is important is your crew and that is when you need to step in.  It is your job to wake them up in the morning with a cup of coffee and to keep them supplied with chocolate, cola and food during the day.  Some of you may think that your crews are good enough without treating them well, they are soldiers after all, but at Wargaming we think that your crews should have a couple of happy days!

Because of this, and to celebrate the second anniversary of the launch of World of Tanks in Russia, we have prepared a special, free bonus code!  If you do not know what a bonus code is, please read up on bonus codes in our guide.

BONUS CODE:

HAPPYTANKSDAY

(capital letters only)

After inputting the bonus code you will receive all of the following:

1 day of free premium
5x Extra Combat Rations
5x Case of Cola
5x Chocolate
5x Improved Combat Rations
5x Strong coffee
You will be able to input the bonus code from 2:01 CEST (00:01 GMT) on the 10th of August until 1:59 CEST on the 23rd of August 2012 (23:59 GMT on the 22nd of August 2012), so don’t hesitate to do it as soon as you read this!  The bonus code may only be input once per account.

We hope that you will all enjoy your free day of premium and that your crews will appreciate the awesome taste of the rations we have cooked up for them!

I know you can simply push them out of the way and the heavies can pin other tanks and TD's side on or keep pushing them across the map while shooting into them, also the physics allow you to push your slower team mates E100, MAUS etc to get them to a vantage point quicker...or three or four tanks all pushing to get a TD up to a high vantage point that they wouldn't normally be able to reach under their own power.

0.8 is on its way -

QuoteVersion 8.0 is the most anticipated World of Tanks update so far! The new physics system has been discussed and speculated about by virtual tankers for months.   Some of you may have already had a taste of it on the test servers. Now, all those dreams about jumping off cliffs and pushing enemies off bridges can become reality.

However, that’s not all!  In version 8.0, World of Tanks will also get a brand new rendering and lighting system. Several maps will be put through a very intensive face-lift  which will give them a brand new feel.

As with every update, there will be several new vehicles introduced into the game.  These include four new USSR tank destroyers, and a new premium tank, the Matilda Black Prince. As well as these new vehicles, you will also get a large number of new customisation options for your vehicles, in the form of emblems and inscriptions which can be placed on your tanks.

All these changes and more await you once Version 8.0 goes live! Read the full list of changes to see all of the details in the Updates section.

The maintenance will take place on the 27th of September and will last from 5:00 CEST (3:00 GMT) until 13:00 CEST (11:00 GMT).
Those players with an active premium account at the time of the maintenance on Thursday 27th September will receive one day's worth of premium as compensation.

Problem solved.

Went to %AppData%\Wargaming.net\WorldOfTanks
Deleted all content of that folder
Logged in again, it re-synched and then worked first time.

Doesn't work for everyone.......if you continue to have problems try logging in using EU2 as opposed to auto........appears to be a problem with EU1 that is causing all the outtages.

Hi folks.
I was wondering if I could join your clan. To be honest i dont pee twice a night (yet) but I am very good in all other disciplines listed on wot community page.
Slavicus_hr is my nick in wot and I started playing recently (t5 TD is my best tank atm), but I like the game and I plan to stick with it for quite some time.
I played wow since launch ofBC but pandas killed it for me so i found new time sink in this game ;)
