Title: Switchbak
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 27, 2011, 07:56:49 AM
Here's a proposed draft of a PM to Switch.  We need to sort this - he's been turning up prettty regular for RGW and not at all for RGT.

QuoteHi Switch

We know you've been going through some rough times recently and hope these are being sorted out ok.  For this reason we've been pretty lenient in terms of your attendance for RGT but we are now at a stage where we need to bite the bullet and advise you that we have to demote you to Social rank instead of the RGT rank you currently hold.  It's simply not fair to the rest of the ranged dps team to keep that spot open and unused when we're pushing through heroic modes.  We hope you understand.

As you seem to be able to make more RGW raids, had you considered main-switching and taking an RGW rank on that character instead?

We'll make the change to your rank shortly, but let us know if you want to consider the RGW suggestion.

Ended up having a TS chat and told him.  He needs to be demoted in-game but knows he is no longer in RGT.

Quote from: SwitchbackHai chaps, just wanted to send a quick message to say sorry for my immature and crappy behaviour the last couple weeks.

Ive had a tough time recently and thus it affected mine, and your game time with raids and such.

Now things are sorted, i basically expected to jump straight back in.This didnt happen and quite rightly so! Yet i acted like a kid and made a few comments which were just fail.

Sorry for this and it wont happen again,i hope this clears the air abit and we can carry on being good friends and guildee's.

Cheers Switch
I had this PM from Switch this morning, which I think we all had.  I'm contemplating the reply but am keen to confirm to him that he has been acting like an ass and that I'm glad he recognizes it as unacceptable.  I'm currently running with the below unless anyone has any better ideas.
Quote from: TL's proposed replySwitch,

I'm glad you recognise that some of your behaviour has been unacceptable recently and pleased to receive your assurances that it won't happen again.

We know you have had a rough time recently and for this reason we were very lenient in terms of your attendance in RGT, but there had to be an end point where we needed to fill the spot with someone who would provide the attendance that RGT  needed, particularly as the holiday months are now upon us.

Just remember that this is a game and we all do this for fun.  It becomes less fun when people say things which are later become the subject of regret.   As officers we're trying to keep the game fun for the whole guild and unfortunately that does mean we sometimes need to make decisions that an individual might not like, but it is all done with the guild's best interest at heart and as much support for the individual as we can give.

Thank you for the apology and we'll see you online.

I don't think we need to justify things again, he recognises he made a mistake and the reason he was dropped.  I wasn't planning on replying at all but if we want to reply I would miss out the second paragraph.

After his last outburst

If anyone wants to add "sugarcoat" it feel free

QuoteHi Switch I appreciate you taking the time to pm us with an explanation. I know raiding can be frustrating but its not acceptable behavior.

Its a big loss but you will not be raiding with us

I have a responsibility to everyone in the raid that we promote a good environment and i'm not comfortable that we will not have this situation again.

As I said to whitey on TS the other day, I wasn't there for the incident in question I just heard about it afterwards so I trust in your opinion and from what I've heard that message is justified and I'm behind you in this.

I told him if he didn't like our decision to take it up with the head admin ... oh wait! thats you :norty:

Thats not true I didn't

... hes taking his toons out of the guild but leaving the rogue ...I'm ok with that. Interesting to see if we get any ripples from this and any more want to go. Feedback so far from people is they think it was handled well and they seem to be on our side
