Hi,
Ive been thinking of getting a copy of Dirt 3 and was wondering if anyone has a steering wheel controller thingy majiggy they would recomend? :D
Never had one to be honest, but what i do when i buy off the net is:
Get an idea of how much your willing to spend
Used or brand new?
And find the best one for your needs from reading reviews about the steering wheel on the net
hope this helps
How much do you want to spend?
saw this one, anyone recomend it?

i got one of those cant really go wrong with that. Awesome in LFS and F1 2010 and just about every other racing game i have. Try nipping into the live for speed team speak channel and asking the guys on there, im sure they will give you some good pointers and tell you how good the one you are looking at is
There are only two decent wheel makers out there:
http://www.fanatec.com/
http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/714
anything else is poo.

I got one of those, there lovely, although I think you should be able to find one cheaper, the other I found that was meant to be good for the same sort of price was the Thrustmaster FERRARI F430 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001LDJF9W/ref=s9_simh_bw_p63_d0_i5?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=039A5ZKKAE04WBJ30TMG&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=233873527&pf_rd_i=676172011
What Jamin said re the Logitechs (not tried the Fanatecs). I had a cheaper 'PS3' Logitech and ended up buying FatBob's Logitech G25 from him at one of the dMw LAN parties. Best purchase I ever made. At the last LAN the setup we had on the 'hot lap competition' was almost impossible with a cheaper wheel (too much play in the column, not enough touch on the pedals, not enough accuracy in the control) , but when we swapped the cheaper wheel for the G25 suddenly the hot lap challenge in a very powerful car became an awesome and highly addictive experience.
If you're going to buy a wheel then it really is worth stretching the budget and buying a wheel just once. If you buy cheaper then you'll almost certainly end up being frustrated and spending more money buying the wheel you should have bought in the first place. So if the budget stretches, then go for the G27 which is the upgraded and newer version of the G25 I have. Highly recommended.
Cheers for your help guys. After long deliberation and researching I have found allot of reviews suggesting the g27 is flawed in comparison to the g25. there seems to be problems with clunking and shafts/gears wearing quite quickly.
Think I may go with the g25 if this is the case.
Anyone had issues with their logitech wheels?
Last week my new G27 down shifter paddle switch did not work.
Logitech sent a complete new setup to me in 2 days. You can buy with confidence that if you do have an issue it will be sorted.
I think you may have a problem with finding a G25 as they stopped manufacture nearly 2 years ago, but I can confirm Naldo's confidence in the Logitech's after sales service. They replaced my G25 (although over 2 years old and out of guarantee) with a G27 which in my opinion is a better wheel.:D
I have occasional niggles (intermittent sticking potentiometer on brake pedal) but overall has a good solid feel and is extremely accurate.
I hammer my wheel for a couple of hours a night, (I'm an OAP with sod-all else to do) so I've had good value. Seany has a G25 and has snapped the top of his wheel, but he's a bleedin animal when it comes to Live for Speed.:narnar:
I've got over 120000 miles on my Logitech Momo, the pedals got spikey so need cleaning every once in a while.

How do you record the miles?
Live for Speed records every mile you do, how many laps, how much fuel, in which car etc. Its Stato's dream database for sims :D

F1 2010 is a very respectable racing game, and it's a reasonable £20 on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/44310/?snr=1_4_4__13).

Any money taken yet then or was it your details they were after?

They have taken my money £125.19 and have my details! I dont know who you can trust? It was a secure site?
I've done some research on this for you. It's almost definitely a scam site. Parts of the site have been ripped from the Currys website and the WHOIS looks very suspect.
My advice is to contact sage pay which is the payment portal they use. A few others have done thus and got their money back that way after a week or two.
how did u pay? i notice it supports paypal if you paid by paypal open a dispute with them about the money, if you paid another way and didnt recieve the item contact your bank and explain the situation they should hopefully get ur money back
