Max von Sydow reading the ingredients list off the side of a Pot Noodle would sound epic, but I'll admit the game does look cool. Shame they stuck with clunky old PS3, Xbox technology and didn't push out the boat for us PC gamer types. Even so it still looks pretty.

I've been looking forward to this for a while now. Much like Oblivion hopefully they'll leave it fairly open to the community to roll in updates to the graphics to raise it far above that of the console versions. Bethesda are a good studio who care more than many about the PC experience. I hope that's reflected in this game. With the consoles beginning to feel a bit dated some companies are starting to demo games to the press on PC (most notably Dice for BF3) so they roll in extra graphics to make it look super good in trailers. That will hugely benefit the PC gaming crowd.

As far as I'm concerned I don't mind if the next gen consoles don't come for a while if developers start doing that.

If this sort of game floats your boat you should take a look at The Witcher 2, it's very nice.

Well it's out and it's outstanding. Free form game play with almost no bounds to what you can do and where you can go. And it looks gorgeous.

Although perhaps not quite as amazing as this young lady seems to think it is.

The game is amazing. I have some major gripes with the UI though. Feels like a console port just remapped. Why can't you use the number keys to store load outs/cast spells/take potions etc.
Seriously that is so basic that it's shocking they didn't bother with it. Plus there are some times where the mouse confuses the menus, and sometimes you HAVE to use the mouse while in a menu, tab and return don't work whereas they do 99% of the time.

The gameplay is stunning. Plot is good. Voice acting is on par with what's to be expected. Plus it's got the "Crap I've no idea what I want to do first" feeling because there's just so much to do.

Yep the wonky UI is about the only problem I've found with this game. being utterly overwhelmed by the world isn't really a negative, but it still takes a while to realise I have to decide where to go, the game will do no more than give me a gentle push in the direction of the main story arc.

I have put some hours due to insomnia from working messed up hours; one day be on Yank time and the next UK time again....

I have to say its much the same as Oblivian (which is good) but with a moodier feel. There is little to guide you and that's good for this kinda of atmospheric game. I find myself saving all the time in case I really screw something up!

I am liking the soldier build with healing atm, one handed and block specialisation, but with the twist of some points in healing and destruction damage for range. Archery I find is overrated in this game as its hard to hit anyone compared to oblivian.

One weird thing that I don't know how to get red of is a strange disease that I caught from getting bitten by some evil rat things. No clue how to cure it ATM and its putting a big de-buff on my stats. Any ideas anyone?

It's a bargain at £35 so it's definitely a bargain at that price. It's a steamworks game so he doesn't need it delivered to him, just anyone who asda will post to and activate the game on steam. Download it rather than install of the disk (which he won't have).

I'd volunteer to take delivery but my post is so bad I get everything delivered to the uni, but the mail room is pretty slow so sometimes this turn up a couple of days late.

Thank god this game isn't multiplayer.

I f.e. really can't/couldn't stand the WoW community any second longer.
Plus the game wouldn't have looked that good, or played that well if it were multiplayer.

A pain :) but it's worth knowing that if you have a horse you can still ride that at normal speed (and fast travel) when carrying too much.

And as always, when you get more advanced and can carry more, you actually need to carry less.

I mainly use my bound weapons.
Armour level is to the point where it has zero weight when worn.
I have a black soul star gem that is refillable.
Master level spells for other stuff.

I conjure up a couple of Dremora lords and they go running in, then I fire up the bound bow or sword and follow, coupled with the 'iceform' shout it's not too bad.

And I'm a werewolf with that Hircine ring and the Arch Mage of Winterhold

Got houses and yarls in WhiteRun, Solitude and  Markarth.

Since becoming a werewolf, I keep getting guards randomly telling me I smell like a wet dog. :D

When playing these types of games, do you guys tend to stick to your birth right or do you just do every perk and skill?

I always think about sticking to a certain style, I don't know like an Honest two handed weapon no magic warrior type but always end up using everything possible.

So now my dude, uses all types of weapons and magic, does smithing, alchemy, armor making etc etc etc

What do you do?

I changed my arsenal from mage to warrior to range/bow to see which one i like best i now tend to stick to warrior with a bit of mage thrown in.

Hmm assassin mold, that sounds nasty I'd see a doctor and get something for that before it kills you.

Was watching TV and they were saying that there's going to be alot of DLC for it with alot of extra quests in it. Hope so as I'm through the game!

I'm playing one handed (pun intended). Heavy armor, using the healing skill alot (restauration) and got a bow just for fun.
Some quests I can't seem to get finished though.

BTW, something funny: In one place I started seeing a guy, then he was doubled, tripled.... etc, and now I have a screenshot of the same guy but seeing 5 of him! The screenshot is on my SteamCloudthingy, visible for friends only.

Im surprised your even through the game. I crashed and crashed like a lot of other PC users and none of the patches have fixed my problems. I like the game, but i was kinda annoyed that the game was named Game of the Year when it has that many obvious bugs and a lot of users are complaining about it. Current im stuck in the main quest, hoping that the patch 1.4 will take away my problems with Crashing to Desktop and other related problems. Im my humble opinion, the game was just not properly Quality tested.

DuVeL or: timmermanpeter[AT]hotmail.com

They said it would have the same or more ammount of DLC as FallOut New Vegas (which I've started up again aslong as BF3 is screwed).

I've heard from Luminance that alot of people have problems. None here except once in 200 times the game freezes and I need to CTRL ALT DEL out. And that on my old rig!

Had a few in game scripting bugs (missions not completing, task items not being removed), but no CTD's.

Found most answers at UESPWiki, like "Finn's Lute" (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Finn%27s_Lute).

1 time I got trapped in a Dwarf walkway after dropping down and not being able to jump clear, same happened in some rocks. Also lost a few horses by fast travelling to Labyrinthian whilst dismounted, seems to have spawned the horse in a point that killed it.

Managed to use the console to fix some of the scripting issues, talked Sn00ks through fixing some as well.

Just seen that my game has just updated on Steam, a few hundred meg.

Yep I use tons of stuff of the workshop used a ton of different graphic's mods to get different types of effects, I wanted to make the game more immersive but with quests and such there is not a lot most of the workshop mods tend to be items and improvements.

Gave this another try after initially the graphics bugs (flickering sky and so on) gave me a hard time. I really despised Oblivion for its skill system which was very unclear to me, and I didn't really like the FPS combat. But I have to say I'm pretty hooked on Skyrim even though the combat system is much the same. What really shines for me is the intuitiveness of the perk system.

So far I've not really progressed much in the main storyline, I'm too busy having fun with all the side missions and just generally exploring the beautiful world (which atmospherically is a lot better than Cyrodiil imo).
