In a good way. :D
Even though I have the full basic PPL for flying, I have to fly every 28 days to maintain the right to fly on the rental places insurance, over 28 days and I need to go up with one of their instructors for a circuit or two to get back on the books.
Because of the recent dangerously gusty weather I missed out on my 28 days and so had to go up with an instructor.
But I decided to turn it into something a bit more than just doing a few circuits, I had the instructor and plenty of time, so yesterday I had my first go at some aerobatics in the plane.:woot2:
Loops, Barrel Rolls and some Reverse Half Cubans, pulling some quite sustained 3G manoeuvres.
Next time I go up I'll be practising Loops and Barrel Rolls on my own as they are single manoeuvres, whereas the Reverse Half Cubans are slightly more complex and so I'll be having some more flights with the instructor to go learn that and some more of the allowed aerobatics in the "C150 Aerobat".
As there are currently no certifications or qualifications needed to perform aerobatics, this is just something I can go out and do on my standard pilots license, once I've been through them with the instructor.
I suppose I'd better take a video camera and set myself up a YouTube account.
Good work mate sounds like a great laugh :)
Pictures ... or it didn't happen :winkiss:

All in good time.
Today would have been brilliant day to go up and play, but work and other things took up today's time.
reminds me of the time i was an instructor (service helper) in the air cadets.....
got tasked with taking some cadets to liverpool to the UAS (University air sqn) there. Anyhow at the end of the day there was a slot left and they let me have a go. So i jumped in and the flt Lt said "have you any flight experience" Yep solo in gliders came the reply..."oh so id best take off" he said, why was the reply from me....."well a cable launch is a bit different from a normal take off", to which i said....excuse me mate but i flew powered. "ok then you have control...lets go, ill take over if there are any issues ..happy?", oh yes i replied. So then what followed was in my opinion the best take off and nav/climb to our respective area just north of liverpool that i had ever carried out (well the 1st one to that point in my case).
"So we are at 3500, would you like to do aeros"..... oh ok, so i do a gentle 360 turn around where we are to see if we are clear of any aircraft and precede to waggle the stick. Nose down 120kts pull back, look out the side watch the horizon, , then look back as the loop increases and catch the ground and follow it round to straight and level. "oh youve done that before " says the pilot " so what else can you do"?
Well 2 stall turns,
3 more loops,
3 barrel rolls,
and a couple of wing overs
then all followed by a sweet roller and then a landing
He was a little impressed..... if only i had the money thou to get my ppl instead of this gliding lark and flying with the cadets.....
Well done Lib, I'm well impressed :D
Too scary to even contemplate...
Glad you're enjoying it though
See you at the Redbull airshow or it didn't happen.
Reverse Half Cuban? That's nothing, I pinched off a full Cuban this morning in trap 2. I also did a five finger walk and plum juggled whilst I was bored.
(nice job Lib!)
