Title: Update your Addons for 4.2
Post by: TeaLeaf on June 29, 2011, 07:33:01 AM
Overnight there have been about 15 updates to various addons I have installed (not necessarily in use, but installed), so make sure when you log in today that you update all of your addons before you log in *and* click the 'load out of date addons' box before loading your character.  This should minimise any gremlins in the system!

In the last 48 hours I've seen something like 40 different addon updates, including all the boss mods.  Make sure you are updated before tonight's raid please with Firelands mods working fully.

All of my addons seem to be working, but prior to this mornings patch I was having targeting issues on my DK tank - the focus kept staying on dead mobs and not automatically moving. I was even able to tab target dead mobs.
Anyone else see this? I haven't had time to test todays patch to see if that's resolved as there is nothing in the patch notes about it.

Huge FPS leak again with addons on my machine. Problem was in Skada I think, as last time it had to do with Combat Log parsing as well. Updated and fixed now, but just a reminder, if anyone gets a huge FPS loss update/disable any combat log parsing addons. :-)

Yesterday I was rather surprised by a range radar frame. And I don't think I was the only one.
It is a new feature from DBM (http://www.deadlybossmods.com/). It is also a bit bugged in the Firelands.

Quote[06/29/2011] Update #1: Looks like we got the map sizes of Firelands wrong. The range checker frame will therefore not work properly for non-default distances in Firelands. This should be fixed in the current SVN build. A stable version with this fix (and other 4.2-related fixes) will be available tomorrow.

Deadly Boss Mods 4.90 for WoW 4.2 is now available for download. It comes with support for all new bosses and instances. However, the data is based on the PTR versions of these bosses and might not yet be entirely accurate.
One of the main new features, beside the support for Firelands, is the new range radar frame. This frame shows an overlay radar of all players within a specific radius of you. The players that are displayed in this frame can be filtered by certain criteria; one example for a mod that makes great use of this new frame is the Nefarian mod. The frame will be shown as soon as Nefarian casts Explosive Cinders and hidden once the debuff is gone. It will show you just the players with Cinders on them so you can run away from them while ignoring harmless players. If you are affected by Explosive Cinders, it will show you all other players to run away from.

Right-clicking on the frame should give the possibility to choose between radar, text or both.

Twisted ive had the targetting issue pressing tab to next mob (it doesnt choose closest) so its a bit of a pain if your melee DPS and the mob is miles away
