I'm Possibily going to Amsterdam in october and wonderd if anyone else has been and how they would review there time there.
Thanks DD:D
Dont go there mate it is awful !!
Rotterdam is better <.<
We've been there with a few guys from dMw.
We had a blast. Anything particular you'll be going to Amsterdam for and things you want to see?
How is there beer and coffee rooms? and window shopping? :P
To be honest, the beer is bad... Heineken mostly. You should lay of this kiddy beer and go for Grolsch if they have it (Or else Brand beer).
The redlight district is interesting, but not that spectaculair.
The weed museum is a good mentioning, the sex museum is one to watch, and if you have the time, go take a canaltrip its really good money.
The coffeeshops are getting less and less and also the places to windowshop. We also had a blast at the Comdey Central Club. For the rest as Lumi says.
ehh Heineken worse then Grolsch.....I am not gonna start this as its everyones own taste. However Hertog Jan is better then both!
Amsterdamage is on the list for all hedonistic youth at one stage or another.
I've been a dozen or so times in my 'coffee-shop' days and it's worth a visit. The window-shopping is interesting although I wouldn't do much more than look and the more traditional cultural side of the Dam is great if you can drag yourself away south.
It's expensive to stay and rooms are ridiculously small.
We've stayed in many places, a few still give me the shudders but other which were OK.
Hotel Gerstekorrel - http://www.gerstekorrel.com/ - is well located and relatively cheap and was the most popular amongst my crowd. However we're talking a good 8 years ago!
Do a search on the forum for Amsterdam as there's been a couple of trips and there's lots of info.
Cheers for the feedback lads
Grolsch > hertoch Jan and Brand > Dommelsch and Amstel > Jupiler > Heineken and way ....................................... below Bavaria (worst beer ever, its like Becks, bah!)
As for the Comedy Club. I have to agree with DuVeL, its one to watch, its all improvisation, and in English, and really funny.
