Not that great. I love F1 and always watch it live. But now its pretty much all on sky sports. And the coverage wont be any where as good. Knowing sky it will be ppv to :(. It sucks :(

Yep, i certainly won't be subscribing to sky just for this, it's vary rare at the minute I watch the tv with the 1 exception being the F1, skys coverage will be back to the days of itv with adds & more nonsense, the real bit that tits me off is -

QuoteBarbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said: "We are absolutely delighted that F1 will remain on the BBC.
"The sport has never been more popular with TV audiences at a 10-year high and the BBC has always stated its commitment to the big national sporting moments.

if it's going that well they coulda kept hold of the whole thing. pants.

Disappointed, it's back to the advert-ridden coitus-interruptus of the ITV days.  Nightmare broadcast that will miss critical moments in the race.  Again.  Real sad about this.

So basically if you're a F1 fan there's no point in ever watching the BBC version. I could cope with ITV putting stupid advert in it because it was still terrestrial, but to take it away from the public is a terrible idea. Now I'll have to download every race.

What were the BBC thinking, it's all or nothing. Nobody wants to watch half of a season. I've no intention signing up for Sky just to watch F1, I think buying a TV license just for Top Gear and F1 was excessive...buy sky is complete overkill.

I might be able to sign into my parents sky online account, but if not I'll have to use other means or watch in a pub.

Sky are a bunch of money grabbing bankers. Bet they have an f1 only channel costing £10 a month and that will be the only way to watch it in sky i reckon

BBC Have Been very good for coverage of f1 with its no nonsense ad breaks and brill presenters i proberly wont be saying the same for sky when they show f1 but then again im not paying for skysports so im really disapointed

"BBC Sport will broadcast half the races live, as well as the qualifying and practice sessions from those races"

Which half, the start or the finish?

I don't care really, but I bet the sponsors do.

As any real F1 fan will tell you, its not the same watching 'highlights' 3/6 hours later, cause your bound to hear the result before watching.

Where will you be downloading?

I'm thinking of watching live foreign coverage on mute (somehow ) and have Radio 5 live on for the commentary :D

according to the bbc and an interview with Martin Whitmarsh the bbc feed will be half live as in 9 Gp's and half "defered", which i take as later on in the day, as long as its in HD and with the commentator setup it has now im ok with it

I like to think of myself as a real fan. I was at Silverstone this year and I'll be in Spa again in few weeks. I don't watch the highlights. Currently BBC put low quality version of the full race on iPlayer which I've been known to get on occasion, but generally I go for the HD version which is available in the dark shadows of the internet.

I'm generally pretty good for not hearing the results before I watch the race. I was away last weekend for a physics conference and avoided looking at the TV screens in the airport and downloaded watched it on the Monday at about 4am.

If when they say deferred they mean on the same day I don't think it's a big deal for me as I sometimes miss it live any...as long as it's not too delayed.
