You will be able to swap the skins of any item you have with another item of silimar properties (not stats) ie. Makes your T12 look like T2.

I, for one, am underwhelmed by this. It smacks of blizzard getting away more gay gear designs because it can be changed anyway.
I kinda like the idea. Some sets are just horrible (warrior T11, warlock T11) and would be better off looking like one of the older sets (warriors generally had a lot of good looking tier sets imo).
I'd realy like my druid wearing T3 set, it's totally awsome (the pvp sets are ok...but...T3 looks so much prettier).
I do hope you don't HAVE to have the originally set, because that would be somewhat troublesome for T3...since Naxx lvl60 is a goner (sure, lvl 80 Naxx got the same looks, but the colour ain't as pretty as T3).
Ah well, better keep some gold in my pocket...bet those Ethereals are just as greedy as goblins!

Smells like you have to own the piece you'd like to transform it into. Makes a lot more sence to, since I doubt blizzard will let you choose by drop down menu, the piece of choise.

Hmmm, would mean I have to find a few (crazy) people to do Naxx runs then (can't remeber if the 25m version is for sale at the vendor for JP)... I think the 25m version looks a bit better than the 10m version, but both not as cool as T3 though :(
With the latest updates it seems to be the case yes. Basically you put the item that you want your stuff to look like in a character ragdoll equipment screen much like you would normally. Then, once you put in all the items you want to change into, you click a button and bam, it's done :-)
I for one have started farming MC on a weekly basis to get me some Might set. I am more than willing to set up some quick BWL runs (mechanics force you to get more than 1 person for a couple of encounters) to get items from there, as well.
Im hunting for many set/armor items and ofc weapons now for patch 4.3 but there is a small problem.
For my warrior, I'd also like the Enchanted Thorium Breastplate and Enchanted Thorium Leggings. So I started farming the plans...only to come to the conclusion that the drop (top and bottom) plans armorsmithing have been removed....
So my only chance to get them is that someone else can make them. So I wonder, does anyone have the plans for these 2 items? (I know Padding has...but he's gone for a while according to the forums)
I'll check on my two smiths, I usually collect recipes so there's a decent chance that one of them will them.

I've been searching for "alternatives" for enchanted thorium, but so far no luck.
The chestplate seems to be quite unique, it's the only one in grey/black with yellow decoration.
Hyperion and Imbued look a lot like it, but...it's not quite grey/black is it?
Legs however seem to have 2 "alternatives" but...they're both not obtainable (for me) anymore.
The first drops of Ysondre (the green world boss dragon), and as we all know, they have been removed...including the leggings.
So, the second one is from a quest-reward in blade's edge...which I've done in TBC and vendored/dissed the pants since it was green (and I couldn't know back in tbc that we would get transmorgrification in cataclysm).
So unless I find a blacksmith, that is still active, I can't get my hands on those 2 pretties.
(the only blacksmiths I found so far who have the recipes are offline for 2 or more months now)
I already got the mats for the pants and chest, so if you know someone (reliable) with the skills, please let me know!
I did check mine, neither have the recipes, sorry.

just a quick update on this, spoke to a gm and he said that the item has no been removed from the game, so the recipe is no longer attainable:( but people can still make it who have the recipe.
I have been asking around for you mate, got a couple more people to ask.
I can make the chest and the legs on my blacksmith - Only problem is that they are on the Terenas server right now... So come get them :P
