Indeed.
Just seen this on thew news and its really sad. Does anyone know what group and number he was?
Going to post up some pictures I took of them at the Lowestoft airshow a week ago to honour the guy in the crash as they are truly talented pilots and risk their lives for the love of formation flying and for their adoring fans.
I hope this is not the end of the red arrows and airshows as I am sure he would want them to continue.
Long live the red arrows.
Rumored to be Red 4
From another Forum:
'It looks like the Reds were reforming and at least four of them were in a right
hand turn at a fairly low altitude. Red 4 appeared to lose altitude as he was
banking and crashed well away from the crowd line. No other aircraft was
involved. From comments on another forum by people who live in the area, it
sounds as if he stayed with the aircraft to ensure it didn't go into a housing
estate.'
Whatever happened, my sympathies go to Flt Lt Egging's family.
