Title: Quick question regarding the bbadmin message
Post by: Dr Sadako on November 02, 2003, 10:24:47 PM
QuoteACTION REQUIRED: Read this email carefully or you will not be able to access the Dead Men Walking servers.

The Dead Men Walking Community is about to make changes to the way that Members access the servers. The changes will come in two parts:

  • Firstly, the server passwords will be changed and the new password will be displayed in the dedicated section of the forums that is only visible to registered forum and community members. (previously new passwords have been distributed via the old PCS mailing list)

  • Those people connecting to our servers will have their Steam ID checked. If it is not on our list of registered Members, then access will be denied.

With this latter point in mind we need all members to go to forum.deadmen.co.uk and go to My Controls>Edit Profile Info and insert their Steam ID.

If you don't know how to find your Steam ID then read the post here:

The password will be changed shortly, so if your password fails then check the forums for the new one!

Add your Steam ID to your forum profile NOW!!

Thank you.

My box is unchecked by default. Should we add further up in this message to make sure it is checked if you want more messages? Should it be checked?

I applied an override and emailed everyone anyway.  It doesn't matter what people put in that box if the override is used - I figured that it would be sensible to apply this as otherwise the bulk mailing would have gone to only 7 of the members!
