I bought the bullet and bought an expensive Monitor calibration tool. I was very happy with the results apart from the fact that it looses the calibration each time I restart windows . I have to start iProfiler to apply the setting each time I turn my PC on.... Annoying!
After attempting to delete all drivers and playing with colour management for several hours and getting frustrated I came across this webpage (http://www.pusztaiphoto.com/articles/colormgmt/win7/default.aspx).
It turns out you have to somewhat hack Windows 7 to get it to work properly by tricking it into thinking that you have done the calibration through its crappy on screen "can you see this now" rubbish.
Thought I would share this with you all in case you are having similar problems.
Now for the pics of the red arrows.
