Title: Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad server?
Post by: BrotherTobious on September 05, 2011, 12:22:15 PM
Gents this game has dedicated servers which are free and we can stick it on one of our boxes

It even has Web basied admin

All the info as it comes is here  Red Orchestra Server info (http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/forumdisplay.php?f=80)

There is already configs for just using certain maps which I think we will be looking to do based on the beta stuff Tut, Frenzy and I have done.

So what do you lot think  and few people are buying this,  It is a great game and it actually looks like it a is the sort of servers that we want.

It is in beta but the game is release with in the next week or so.

my 2 cents

I have installed a server but I need a config and there are a lot of options.  Does anyone have a config they like as a starting point?

The links I have for you at the moment are for the demo, but great work thanks

TE-Apartments
TE-FallenFighters
CD-Apartments
TE-Gumrak
FF-FallenFigters

I suggest this rotation and then  as it is a mix of all the maps and game types give people the chance to try it out.

We can always remove the unpopular ones.

I've used the baserealism config for now but if you have anything you want added/changed then please post up the config lines you want changed.  Please remember this is new to me as well so just saying "I want x done" isn't too helpful, saying "I want x done by changing this line here from this to that" would be great.

p.s. the server is running on the default port (7777) but this may need to be opened on the firewall.

Can you view the server?  I'm not sure if the firewall changes have been done and no point announcing until we know it's available.

Edit: Gandy has confirmed the ports are now open, can someone confirm they can connect?

FYI having issues with the server as in connecting to it, Whitey has been looking at it and we think it might be a firewall so PM Gandy.  If it is not that I am sure we can figure something out.  I agree with Whitey no annoucement till the server is up.

Still waiting on some info from gandy to see if it that issue.   As regards to LAN I suggest we wait and see how many pick it up and if there is time to do it.
