Every time we are on the "Cold War" map and I get the truck rolling I burst into the chorus of "I like trucking" on Team Speak - so what's all that about then?
Well, when I were a lad (oh around 1982 or so) there was a near-the-knuckle comedy programme on BBC2 at 9 O'Clock (the same time as the main news aired on BBC1) called "Not the Nine O'Clock news" - this program featured tits, vomit, hedgehog sandwiches (buy the record) and yep, the "Trucking song".
See below. Watch out for them breaking their teeth on a Yorkie, the hedgehog sandwich and the "ride for a ride" line, that went right over my 13-year-old head at the time!

Ah nostalgia, it's not what it used to be!
Excellent. Brings back memories.

This was broadcast in 1979, an era when saying "Bum" on tele would get massive complaints .
lmao awesome videos shame i was too young (& not even born dont you feel old now :P ) when this was on
I remember that song well, in fact the song "Kinda Lingers".
Who remembers that song and were as amazed as me that it got passed the censors.

I remember "Don't say goodbye, say Kinda Lingers" and everyone in the playground singing it the next day at school and the horrified reactions of teachers. I had no idea until much later that it sounds (when sung) like Cunnilingus and what that actually means. Imagine for a moment, around seventy 11-13 year old children singing it....
And they think "Dick and Dom" are edgy!
Yea, I'd forgotten about "Kinda Lingers", I found the american express sketch on youtube, that was a bit daring as well.
Just shows how ahead of its time it really was.
Nobody has referenced Constable Savage yet, surprising.
