Thanks and nice one.
That pretty much covers most eventualities.
Please keep this On topic peeps.
Good work thanks DZ
i'm going to bring a spare sata cable and mouse for anyone that needs it
may i ask why ppls pcs will go pop at the lan?
It happens, just bad luck, hdd fails (see Lionheart last LAN :( ) got knocked on the trip to the LAN, your name is sheepy.....
I have 2x ddr3 so-dimm for anyone running newish laptops in my bag FYI
i have a 10m ethernet cable, a very noisy grforce 9600gt gfx card(free to who ever wants it), i'll be bring a few of my extrenal hdd drives so if u need to back up anything, spare mice, have a loft full of assorted pc stuff so let me know if u need anything.
We tend to lose HDD's, PSU's and GFX, home built PC's don't like moving too far and the state of a lot of the roads means they get a bit of a kicking.
I'll have my trusty old IDE/SATA to USB kit, as well as a spare headset and mouse, the headset saw use last LAN when someone's failed.
Don't think I'll bother bringing the old RJ45 crimping set, we have plenty of cables and other people that bring them.
At least with Sheepy around we know who's will blow.
If you're really worried, you can always take the hard drive(s) out of your PC and stick it in something covered in bubble wrap and just pop them back in when you get to the LAN.
If everything is screwed in nice and tight you'll be unlucky to get any issues, but it does happen.
So, please, backup your system before travelling.
i should be ok, but i'll bring my mr fix it box just in case, me or other ppl have probs.
Hmm I may take my stupidly large heat sink off then and resink it when I get there, everything else will hopefully be ok .....I have a few tubes of thermal compound to i shall bring
Drunken. Don't forget the gimp suit..
