This is a dps check encounter with a 6 minute hard enrage
Tanks get Last Defender (all defensive CDs reduced by 50% and durations of ability increased by 100%)
Timeloop gives players an extra life
Raidwall rotation used at end
Healers can only have one buff (can you have more then if dps?)Each crystal that spawns only gives ONE buff, so we set an order to take the crystals amongst all
Positioning
Stack up with tank in front of boss
Heroic Will
-use it to avoid 'Hour of Twilight' or 'Fading Light'
Hour of Twilight
300,000 shadow damage, unresistable, but can be reduced by CDs
-we leave 3 players to soak the major abilities (or we wipe), soakers use CDs to survive
-remainder use Heroic Will to get out of Shadow Realm into Normal Realm to avoid the ability, then return asap after
Every 45 secs cast - must hit at least 3 players
Fading Light
-begins after first 'Hour'
-hits tank + 2 random players
-debuff kills you when it expires if still in shadow realm
-use Heroic Will before it expires, let Fading Light expire, then return to Shadow Realm.
Specific Buffs
Gift of Life - RED - +100% healing
Essence of Dreams - GREEN - direct healing done is doubled and distributed evenly amongst players within 50yds
Source of Magic - BLUE - reduces mana cost of spells by 75% and gives +100% haste

Taking this was awesome for me as a shammy. I just spammed Chain Heals and my mana went up. I went from 15k hps to 27k hps during that last part of the fight.
Made a WeakAura's aura for showing when to press Heroic Will, which works perfectly:

It will pop up:
- when Ultraxion is casting Hour of Twilight.
- when you have less than 5 seconds remaining on your Fading Light debuff, if you have it.
Change texture/position/size as you see fit.
To avoid your CD of Heroic Will still running if you had to counter Fading light right before Ultraxion starts casting Hour of Twilight, always press the button as soon as this aura pops up. Don't hesitate or wait, as you might overlap and not survive HoT.
K, few things we didnt get under control for this boss:
-Hour of Twilight, I have Ultrax target all the time and can see the cast bar, I press my bound key when the bar is at "ght".
-Debuff, Watch your debuffs, maybe setup an addon so it shows you have it.
-DPS, big issue here we need to find 40K dps around 7 players, which is alot I think.
Prepot, use your volcanic potions before we encounter starts and during heroism. so you use 2 per pull.
Rotations, make sure you use the best rotations, if you havent checked for a while, please do so. Every DPS-er/tank needs to increase his/her dps to get this boss down.
I would like to see a post from people, how they are going to increase there dps or sort there "dieing" issue.

I cannot stress enough how incredibly easy WeakAura's makes this hurdle. Use the code in my previous post and all your troubles with this are gone :-)
@ dreaman I will go to a Ui master class over the weekend if I can grab someone patient enough to talk me through. I think I have several clashes with my UI . I am always happy to listen to help as i am not an expert in ad dons I can repay with a boost or 2

Get the EVui addon and install it, disable all other UI addons you might have and give it a go. It's a whole new UI. SImpler then blizzards with more customisation. (type /ec for menu)

Much as I like the availability of packaged solutions, I've never seen one that did everything I wanted or covered all the classes I have. My UI actually changes slightly from toon to toon depending on what is required, so if you can invest a few minutes in the learning curve of understanding how to custimise your UI I think you'll get better returns in the long term. OK. Back to the boss. Since we've now missed 2 raids lets gets chatting about this. UI: There are 2 things you need to watch for, the cast. (get Quartz cast bar) and the Faded Light. If you get the light you must concentrate on your debuff (lots of debuff addons, pick one) and use the jump at the right time. Tank/DPS can stop what they;re doing when they get the debuff to keep a better eye on it if they like. Remember, the same golden rule as always: Survival>"Just one more cast"
2nd time on this boss for me tonight and 1st time as dps....
Didnt die once due to not clicking the button of love....
Dps was bit slack but its o/s and still rocking 359 gear....
Got couple upgrades tonight which will be used for dps spec also and should have some JP's to get 2set 378....so if im dps'ing his boss next time there will be an imp...
Also i didnt bring volcanic pots as thought i would be healing....

I'll fraps our next Ultraxion kill to show just how much of a non-issue Hour of Twilight / Fading Light becomes with WeakAura's. It basically means that all a DPS has to do in this fight is just that: DPS. No movement or anything. Just stand still and DPS. Oh, and press that one button at the moment it is indicated so overly obvious it's completely impossible to miss it.
If your healers can keep you alive and if your tanks can rotate who is in and out of each HoT, you only have to make the DPS curve and it's a kill.
We had couple problems with tank rotation and couple dps getting the debuff and not clicking or not timing it properly....
So watch the vids,read the posts and lets pew pew him next monday :)

In all seriousness, these should be a total non-issue to a raid.
If tanks communicate then they can easily handle the taunt rotation with any debuffs that arise.
If everyone else simply pays attention to both the audio warning from the boss mod and the debuff timer/cast bar then nobody should ever get hit.
On a fight where there is no movement to worry about, you really should not be having these issues.
can for ex lag or a framerate that jumps up and down have anything to do with that the clicking at buff don´t work?
I clicked in time, no problem to see any timers.. sometimes it worked like a charm the next time not :(
There's always a 5-second window in which you can press the button, so unless your lag is 5+ seconds (sounds like a pretty unplayable situation anyway) then no, it shouldn't play a part.
I did and the button started the timer on it but nothing happend.. I still died.... but sometimes things don´t work as they should, not an bad excuse from my side Im more into know if someone else get this "strange" things. and what to do to solve it

Didn't happen to press it too early? It doesn't matter on Hour of Twlight as that one's cast is always as long as the duration of the button spell. But Fading Light has a random duration and may last longer than it. If it lasts 9 seconds and you press it right away, you end up being back in Twlight Realm before Fading Light expires and you die.

I've been having major issues with Weak Aruas, no warnings appear. Going to give it another go.
As for tank rotation, I worked out an easy way to keep the tanks swaping, the tank that hides from the blast taunts when he comes out. As the 1st tank to get Faded Light is the one to take the hit thanks to it's 0 aggro debuff I think it's the safest time for tanks to swap.
last night the "purple button" worked like a charm.. both on keybind and press it. Still having some issues with my abilitys on and off but over all WoW seems to "feel" better now

Ive looked through world of logs and guess what on that 4% wipe 3 people used pots.....Sharpfang,Pals and Nims.....They used 1 each so,ur halfway there!
Sithy,Hanne and Hermi used none.....
1200 int for 25secs is a massive dps boost....espesh if u use it twice! Every fight bar 1 or 2 Drea would say PRE POT! over TS yet none would from the looks of it.
Yes we will prob get him down on weds as a few upgrades will be had from valor and lfr and the 4 bosses b4 this 1....BUT some need to pull their fingers out.
Sorry as its a moan but it is so frustrating for all of us that we spend 4 nights on 1 boss, when it could be quite easily solved....
ALL must bring their own flasks pots and food to raids! its a general rule....we are lucky to have a great guild that can supply it all but u should all have spares...as we fannied around last night when people hadnt taken the cauldren like drea had said in the begining...
So rant over,just remember bring pots,flasks,food and ur ears!
Yeah had to tank yesterday, after a few whipes because of me I think I didnt do so bad :P.
Since those cauldrons are Soulbound and 1 tank didnt show up yesterday I had to place the cauldrons and then jump over to my druid. Hence why I placed them both at the start and actually said it in TS.
Use 1 from the start and then 1 halfway...thats 4H so should cover the 3H were raiding perfectly.
Im quite shocked about what Switch found out, basicly everytime I said 6-5-4-3-prepot-go and yet 3 ppl did it and 1 of them is a tank. Where are the other 3?
If you dont have those pots, ask ask ask. Dont just ignore it caus youre taking down the rest with it but ask! Use TS and ask for it, people even said trade me for a pot. Yet barely anyone did it.
I expect a reply from those that didnt pot, atleast.
I agree with the double pot (its a need on most fights as you gear up) its make or break on this one. Looking at numbers we have too much difference between top and bottom dps. 28-18k throws up a warning to me that people are missing something regarding output. Ill give an example that may / may not give you somthing to think about. The 6 min fight you hit the enrage. Hero was was hit at 25%. Now the scary bit *no major dps boost can be seen from half of the dps team*.
Im not having a pop so dont take this the wrong way im just trying to understand why and point out we must have some untapped potential not being used ...
This fight as dps is little more than a target dummy with 1 extra button to push..
He will fall over on wed :D

I have no idea why the logs say i've only used 1 pot on our good attempts, but i actually did use a second pot every time we hit heroism. I'm 100% sure about that :p
For the rest of yesterdays raid. I think everyone finally understood what they had to do. All we need to do now is get our dps at a decent amount and i'm sure we'll get him down next time!
Remember pre-pots don't usually show in the logs as you're not in combat so they generally do not get recorded.
Thats what I was thinking about aswell, because your not in combat when you use the first pot it probably wont show up, however the 2nd pot should so we are still missing on that.

I did use a lot of pre pots.. I always bring my own stuff. both food flasks and pots.
its really boring to grind for fish and herbs. yup. but i do so i have stuff when the raid don´t have it :)
and Drea, I can make a cauldrons too, if I get the stuff I can place it if ya want :)
and it hurts but.. I have to agree with Switch.. its not the gear lvl that is the problem its a lot of little misstakes most of us do,,,
so if we read up and think before acting we have him down..
and when we do use hero. pls shout it out a couple of sec before so we can pre pot and dont miss that...

The big red arrow points directly at the button, as you can see. Have to have some pretty strong visual handicap to miss that one.
As the fight requires no movement or cameraturning for me as a DPS, and since I use the keyboard for abilities, I can just leave my mouse over the button and only click whenever the red arrow comes up. Makes this boss about as difficult as doing some Dummy training in Stormwind ;-)

I would argue the training dummies are more difficult ......
* You can't train a dummy as they take you down to their level and then hit you with experience :P
* You can't technically kill the training dummy

crap guess I should have read this :narnar: I died yday cause fading light had about 3 sec left & then ultraxion started casting his HoT, thought I would survive both using heroic will but nop. Ah well, I know it for next time :)
