Dead Men Walking

I see have seen on the server some folks with the dMw tag running around.
These people are not allowed too wear the tag , as they are unknow here they aren't on the list off player names also.

Pen also told in diff thread that whe have too wait till NF sorted the Tag out,i have seen atleast 9 or 10 people wearing the dMw Tag!!

Are they Community members or are they random pubbies?

If Community, please let me know as they are as and when you see them as there is no automatic transferring of a tag across supported games platforms. The tag needs to be awarded for each and every game.

I think one thing we also really need an answer on is the German dMw guys.

They have the same tag as ours and are utilising our popularity and name to populate their server.

They are also coming on our server wearing the tag and banning our users who connect to their server.

I am not sure what we can do but its becoming a regular discussion from members on ts as to whats going on.

Please can we confirm where we lie on this one?

I'm not sure what we can do really.

Short of banning them all from our server there's nothing we can do. We can't  stop them using a dMW tag but their players coming onto our server wearing a dMw tag is unacceptable and is bannable und our own rules.

When our members join their server they are getting banned,German only it said.
So when they are on our server whe can ban them!

Don't think we should ban anyone who hasn't broken our rules.

If you guys have a problem with not being able to play on their server i think the only thing you could do is take it up with EA.  It could be argued they are breaking the EA Terms of Use.  Personally, i'm not going to play anywhere i'm not welcome.

These guys are banning our members for NO reason,my thoughts bout that is as they are coming on the dMw whe also remove them simpel as that!

We're not talking about EA server rules but our own server rules.

...which are pretty unequivocal - You wear a dMw tag without permission and we remove you from our server. \it's the rule for every other game we play where we control our own server, so I think it should be the same for BF3 IMHO. Not because we're getting back at the German clan but because we need to be consistent across all our games.

I see not benefit in stooping to the german's level and trying to get them to stop using the dMw tag. I thought of going to their forums and posting something up but to be honest, that would just give them traffic and publicity.

We do need to consider the BF3 dMw tag. However, I'd like to feedback on that.

I think we definitely need a tag that differentiates us from them, wont then be  a problem seeing/banning them .

Can we not have .dMw as we have elsewhere?

I think we're over-analysing this.  You can find a list of who has the badge and entitlement simply by looking at the Awards link at the top of the forum.  Anyone not entitled we ask to remove the wings whilst on our server.  In the mean time, we run with our own chosen tag, not an adjusted one to take account of some other clan.

We cannot use the "dMw." we had in BF:BC2, as BF3 does not accept any punctuation. Alpha and numeric characters only.

Looking at the last few games, we have always used dMw and one other character. This is of course come about since developers are limiting tags to four characters.

In addition we've always agreed in the admin channel what that tag should be. I personally don't have a problem with using a different tag that makes us stick out from the crowd. It will make it easier to identify the copycat clans.

Why don't we put it to a simple vote?

Please slap me down if i'm talking out of turn but i'm a little confused about the tags which have been awarded so far.
I though they are awarded for "The member must have consistently demonstrated good teamwork, knowledge and execution of the appropriate rules and guidelines" etc etc
However, the tags you awarded yesterday seem to be based on the number of hours spent on our server.
Please say if i'm wrong but you should be aware that this seems to be the general thinking. On ts last night i heard several people discussing the awards of tags and it was stated that it was down to the hours the top 10 (more or less) players had put in. This view also seems to be getting stated in the forums now.
Probably didn't help that your award post listed them in the order shown in GameTracker.

Many if not all on the list so far have put in a lot of time getting games rolling on our server though....
