Title: New BF3 Admins - Feedback please..
Post by: Gone_Away on November 10, 2011, 11:12:52 PM
Guys,

We need to increase our server admins by 2.

Can you throw up a few ideas so we can see whom to approach?

Thanks,

NF

I can't comment on in-game performance, but Vargen is a very experienced gamer and ex-Guild Master of SOG (the WoW guild that was hosted here), so has some admin experience of dMw too.

I wouldn't mind seeing Naldo back in as an admin, he has played BF3 more than most...was a good admin in BC2 and would be perfect admin for BF3

And what he say's above, Duvel would be a good choice, always hear him in comms trying to motivate the guy's to play correctly, fairly and as a team.

First thought would be DuVel, like to play by the rules and use good tactics. I'll have a think for some more names

As said above i think Duvel or Naldo will do the job right.
Maybe you can ask them first or if they both want also good;-)

I think I need to add a comment here.

It is wrong for an Admin to start getting involved with flame wars in the public side of the forums.  You have your arguments in here, in private, then come out with a united front to the members.  The recent BF3 Rush thread has unfortunately had some examples of unacceptable behaviour.  I'll use Naldo as an example with the 'hissy fit' comment and a deleted expletive directed to another member.  That's not trying to single him out, but it's an example of where an admin has to be mature enough to not dive in with both feet, but take time to think about a response and to do it in a non-personal and constructive fashion.  So when you think about who can be an Admin and are putting people forward, let's think about having the maturity to handle the role not just on the BF3 server, but in the community as a dMw ambassador.  You need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk when you're an admin.

I agree.

I also think that both Faust and Vargen's post put everyone else to shame in that thread. They're posted constructive, smart and erudite comments.

Fair comment TL, i had responded to this post before reading the posts on the main BF3 forum this morning about last nights antics.

Thanks TL and Pen for your input on naldo. Way ahead of you on that one. While I like Naldo I'm not admiring his game play in BF3 and with the recent fruckas I'm not comfortable with him wearing the tag tbh.

I like Varg and for late night play I don't mind Duvel. While I was initially considering DD I think he's not there just yet. He can have the tags however..

Don't forget that it's not how good a player a person is that should make them potentially admins it's how they play & act.

As I was looking for two new admins I've made offers and had acceptance from:

Vargen
.DickDastardly. (on a trial basis)

They should find their way here soon.

Woho, I haz access! May I start off by adding that DD has done a great job getting rid of unwanted elements tonight. He beat me to the button several times! I have however decided to blame this evenings laggyness on DD, just to put myself in a better light.

Thanks for the kind words and your confidence in me as a dMw admin. Once again I should say, though the border between SOG and dMw was a bit blurry.
