Title: Christmas Competitions
Post by: TeaLeaf on November 14, 2011, 09:44:00 AM
Now is the time to start laying plans for the compos we intend to run over the holiday season period.  It would be great to see something done for each of our games (where possible) so why not post something up in your own game section and see what you and your GAs can come up with?

(let's try not to clash with dates & times though please!)

Hi TL.

Before forging ahead with forum topics I thought I'd share my thoughts.

We'd like to run a SDM comp over the holidays. The problem is the timing of the event. Xmas and NYE fall on a weekend which would normally be the preferred date. Not everyone has the inbetween days off. I've had a conflab with my brother from another mother and we're going to see if we can work together and keep out of each other's comp "space" so not to poach players.

Not sure about Blunt but we're thinking...

Dec 26 - Open
Dec 27 - BF3 SDM - Karkand!
Dec 28 - Arma II
Dec 29 - Open
Dec 30 - DMR Comp

Like to hear from the rest as I'm up for a L4D2 matchup.

Aye the ninja and I spoke and I am going to open it up to my lot to vote on for the 28th or 30th.  Do we have a date for the Deadmen Racing I know they were pretty hot out of the gates on this I dont want to steal their night.

DMR will be doing a Christmas compo too, a Treasure Hunt of sorts with some prizes.  We'll discuss possible dates amongst DMR officers and then feed back into this list as soon as possible.  It is likely to last about 60-90 mins max.

Given absences, pencil in a one hour compo for WoW on Friday 30th evening.  Date & time tbc, but I don't think there's a great crossover between WoW and Arma2 atm, so we should be ok if they are both on the same night.   I'll check further with WoW people to confirm.

WoW compo is scheduled for 19:15 GMT Friday 30 December.  There's no crossover with Arma2 that we can think of amongst the membership, so hopefully this will be ok.

Apart from a nights drag racing, no dates are set for anything. Usually we have a week or two over the holiday of whatever is requested.

There are plans by another racing team for something we have agreed to participate in, but as yet no dates have been set.

Am I ok to post something up for the 21st? We can password the server so was thinking of having a 2 team internal match depending on numbers, would like to keep it to a Wednesday so the 21st is probably the best choice
