Title: RGT - Raid Days
Post by: Niel on November 23, 2011, 02:06:41 PM
Hi All,

Now that we have the possibility of going for Raggy HC - with a requirement to have a go at him in any week being that all the other 6 bosses have to be killed on heroic that week.

I am wondering if it is worth considering attempting an extra raid day per week for a short time - a tough ask for many i know. However, with the RNG of some fights ( ryolith is a perfect example ) and the fact that others are still tricky to do because we are on the edge with either dps or healing  i think we could use up our 3 raid days clearing the other 6 if all is not smooth and that would leave little time to play with Ragnaros.

Myself, i would love to have a proper go at taking Raggy down and with insufficient time it could be asking too much to get lucky.

Just a thought to consider.

Cheers

For me it would be easy to add an extra raid day as with being a student I have a ridiculous amount of free time, however I cannot speak for everyone else, as everyone has a full time job and most have a full family themselves and I can imagine it is difficult for some to even find those 3 days a week.

Hey guys,

For me the problem is that work and trying not to eat junkfood every day ( what i mean with this is get home and then add 30 min to make dinner & eat it ).
Due to working from 8 in the morning till at least 7 at night im having a problem already being on time for raids.
The extra day would have the same problem, if you choose to do a 4th day i will do my best to be there, i just can not promise anything.

The difference there is that on raid nights I put my headphones on and she doesn't disturb me and she looks after the kids.
On other nights when I'm on I randomly AFK without notice to pamper her, look after the kids, etc. ie it's very causal warcraft.

I know some would have a problem ( it would take some "negotiation" on my side also with "she who must be obeyed" ) but with the raid team we have maybe even squeezing an extra boss or two out earlier in the week would leave us good raid time leftover to wipe endlessly on Raggy and discover ourselves why that list of 6/7 heroic is so long on wow progress ;)

I have to say I did not expect us to kill Beth'tilac before 4.3. Given that that patch is literally around the corner (2 weeks from now?), even if we're going to kill every boss on HC very smoothly (say take 1 night of both weeks to clear) we'll only have a max of 4 nights on HC Rag. Are we going to kill it in that time? I'm not one to say we absolutely won't, but I'm not sure if it's worth to put in an extra day of raiding with 4.3 so close. Let me put it this way: I don't give us much chance ;-) That's not to say I wouldn't mind having a crack at Rag HC, even if it's just for the experience...

Oh ye of little faith :P I get what you are saying though, it is clear from the statistics that Rag is a guild breaker, so I agree that we more than likely will not get it down before 4.3 even if we had the full 4 days of trying so adding the extra day would seem futile.

Let's keep an open mind at this stage, we've not even managed to see Ragnaros HC yet, so we might be pleasantly surprised or shockingly violated by the encounter.   Council have plans, it just depends how the week and our progress pans out.
