After seemingly having to rush so much to complete the instance in our last full raid before the shortened Christmas week, I thought it was interesting that we completed the raid last night with 15 minutes to spare compared to the previous raid's 15 minute overrun, despite spending longer on Morchok to obtain the Heroic kill. So as a comparison, this is what Santa brought us over Christmas:
Boss|Previous RDPS|Previous Time|03/01 DPS|03/01 Time|Comment
Morchok|179,998|3min20|98,092|7min10|Difficult to compare as last night was Heroic
Zon'ozz|271,125|4min25|295,273|4min04|24k DPS gain and 21 secs shorter
Yor'sahj|167,998|6min14|170,196|6min26|difficult to compare due to add varieties
Hagara|126,035|5min48|134,065|5min15|8k dps gain but 33 seconds quicker
Ultraxion|162,574|5min46|185,343|5min04|23k DPS gain and 42 secs faster
Blackhorn|174,103|5min53|174,453|5min49|DPS limited by timed events
Spine|105,979|11min02|115,896|8min31|2min29 faster. Nuff said.
Madness|375,973|14min45|383,402|14min21|8k DPS gain, 24 secs faster, but we had to WAIT and stop DPS! :)
I found the comparison quite interesting to see. Most telling for me was Ultraxion (a static DPS fight) and Madness where we actually had to call a STOP on DPS to wait for adds or we would have pushed the boss over too quickly! Clearly we've had some great improvements in DPS!
Well done all!
We have proper gear now.
We know the mechanics well.
We avoid doing stupid mistakes completely.
We rarely do the small mistakes.
This means better dps and easier healing.
Timeline:
We killed Morchok at 21:22 gametime.
We killed 6 normal bosses after this and ended up finishing MoDW at 23:09 gametime.
Thats... like... 1hour 47 minutes on it all. Including slow looting, Jas not entering SoDW, trash on Ultraxion etc.
Cheers for one of the smoothest run Ive ever seen in RGT. Seems like we all have alot of confidence now. :D
And yes; Thanks for discussing tactics so openly. I smell the frustration over TS, and it smells good. Its utterly important to keep discussing like we did on Morchok yesterday day. Cheers Puja, TL, Tessy and others who contributed. <3
Very nice to hear the rest of the raid went well - Im sorry i bailed, but my head was pounding so i had to take (chill?) pill to get it straight and then i layed down on the sofa to relax my head. I didnt want to miss our first heroic kill so even though my head was pounding during the kill i just had to see it! :-)
Im glad that we can discuss stuff when things doesnt go right.
Yeah, we defiintely had a communication problem last night which was the source of my New Year's irritation - so my apologies for sounding like I had a burr up my arse.
There's nothing wrong with discussing and talking about alternative strategies, indeed we encourage it. Long may that continue!
The things a nice shiny legendary can do :) haha!
But nice raid yesterday and glad to see we keep improving :)
Idon't mind the discussing either but as I showed, I don't like it when it takes up valuable raidtime and ends up being about a relatively simple issue (in my eyes at least) ;-)
Once we floored Morchok though, yes it was a proper fast and smooth run :-) Tbh I didn't think we'd make it at first but yay us :-)
Just out of interest:
The most recent RGT Madness kill was 12 mins 23 seconds and 407k rdps. The gains come from both the shorter time improving the relative boost that heroism gives and also from having the initial DPS to push past 10% after the first set of Terrors instead of wstopping dps and waiting for the second set.
