More "tweaks" without adding any extra gaming content.
This time they have added advanced options to all the previously single tier ships.
Marauder + 1 backward facing gun slot = 40,000 Cubits
Spectre + 1 Hull slot = 50,000 Cubits
Fenrir + 1 Hull Slot + 1 Computer slot = 100,000 Cubits
all other base figures stay the same, but the paint option has been removed from the base model.
I've upgraded the "table" sticky with a link to a spreadsheet with the new options and some other tables for weapons planning.
Just another money making scheme, all Cubit based upgrades for a few extra slots.
It explains why my Fenrir had all it's slots emptied on the loadout screen, Spectre and Marauder would have done the same.
I've come to the conclusion that Bigpoints plan has always been to create a PvP game with little or no actual content. There won't be narrative driven quests or raid features added IMHO, just more ways to bring the sides together to engage in PVP. Nothing wrong with this but it's no longer a game I want to invest time in. This won't become SWTOR or WOW etc. That's not a criticism just an observation.
Agreed, it needs dungeon sectors to make it enticing again, the seeds are there with the drones and platforms being a third faction. The mysterious creator of these objects was also the place we got the designs of our new ships, as the storyline goes.
I've invested a hell of a lot of time in it and it's rewarded me by getting unbalanced (caused by the BP fubar) and grinding.
Hence the reason I've left it alone for a while and concentrated on bought games.
I've decided to take a break too. Last night was the final straw. I answered the calls to join our OP run only to find it so poorly attended that it was a suicide run from the start. The Colonials had decimated virtually all our sectors and were either spawn-camping or overwhelming our home sectors with viper swarms. If I managed to kill a couple of them invariably they returned mob-handed to teach me a lesson.
Without balance this game is simply too much like hard work with nothing much to show for it. There's no point in religiously doing your dailies to advance your standing when all the Colonials do is show up in superior numbers and steamroller the opposition. As the Colonials get stronger then the Cylons get weaker as, like me, experienced players call time on this debacle.
must agree with oldie on what he said, Thursday night was an awful gaming experience, oldie and i were getting destroyed every couple of minutes. Really had promise at the start....sort of glad i didnt have time to play as much as i could
Well, Star Trek Online has just gone free to play (with limits) so having played the trial a while back and enjoying it, my lunch hours will now be taken up with STO instead of BSGO.
I had a brief go on Star Trek Online, the space-based combat was pretty fun but the ground-based missions were utterly dire.
I'd be interested to hear if they've improved since.
