Agreed. +1
what's wrong with N00B?
6 out of the top 25 servers have it in their name?? Also, we need to consider the length of the server name that is allowed which I think is 49 or 50.
jebus you guys are a fickle bunch..

Lol, yea but that means 19 Don't. :D
It would be better to use a different word imo. maybe beginner or newbie or something other than n00b.
but the idea is solid :)
I voted yes

Yes but we are a mature and I bet the top 6 servers are just pure run and fun :)
Sent from your computer.
n00b servers are generally max rank of some sort, new players welcome would be better as the other people stated
Voted YES. Frankly I don't think it sends out a "wrong message". An empty server every night is about the worst message we can send. Are sending.
Do you want to fill the server with noobs ?
Do you want to fill the server with people who like to kill noobs ?
Its almost like saying "Trash talking base rape tubers this is the fella for you!"
Well maybe not quite that harsh but as soon as I see n00b in my server list I pass it over :D

I think you're confusing "noob" (newbie) with "total knob". We welcome noobs and kick knobs.
Is it my imagination or are the people voting "no" not regular players? It's all very well to say "keep it elite", but i'd rather be leading newbie's by example on a full server, weeding out the bad apples, than having the "l33t-est" empty server on the net...
I think the poll is worded badly, I voted NO cos I thought I was voting to not put "Noob" in our server banner.
For the most part, “n00bâ€, when used in-game by a player is a derogatory comment, so I voted no. Do we and should we welcome new players with any amount of experience, of course we should and I believe we do. “New players welcome†or “Beginners†or whatever along those lines I think would be good.
I voted no for the same reasons my learned colleagues have outlined above.

What he said!
I voted no, mainly because I hate the word noob, and because in the gaming world I see it as a 'swear word', but that's my own opinion :D , New players welcome or beginners welcome should entice the same audience
so many sarcastic thoughts come to mind..
OK.. since the decision is split..

Is the new server name. Let me know your thoughts...
7 vs 11 is a split decision... and you voted with the 7, right? You can tell you’re in management :narnar:
Is there a particular issue with using the words 'beginner friendly' or 'new players welcome' ?
Personally I think it's a great idea to encourage new players in but I'm not sure 'n00b' just doesn't have too many negative connotations.
I'm with the others in terms of being against use of the word noob, because:
Noob is often confused with the term Newb (as has been done already by someone in this thread).
Newb means new to the game, inexperienced, but these players tend to be more mature and strive to become better.
Noob refers to people who have played the game for a while but are acting in an obnoxious way, without regard for rules or a sense of fair play, are enjoying themselves in-game to the detriment of others enjoyment (i.e. being selfish) and lack the most important skill of all, teamwork.
...and that is why I would not like to see 'Noob' in our server name. We should if anything be attracting newbies to our server, but I would definitely not want dMw to become a home for noobs.

Yes due to size limitations.
Everyone seems to have focused on the single word "noob" and have missed out the "friendly" bit. But none the less, the active BF3 gamers have spoken and I'm comfortable with the decision. We will not put "noob friendly" in the server name.
Thanks for all who participated in the vote and thanks also to the non-bf3 players for their contributions.

How about re-running the poll and asking about - "newb friendly"? it's the same number of letters and, from the look of things, the result would be totally different :)
I hate the very existence of the "word" n00b. I would not oppose using Beginner or similar words, as our servers are beginner friendly in the sense that we don't allow base rape and we try to keep the teams even.
Regardless of the wording, its hard to justify calling a server frequented by mainly 40+s a new player server :P
Yes they're welcome, but they won't have any fun :P
