Title: OK den....
Post by: Penfold on January 17, 2012, 09:53:19 AM
Firstly, thanks to those kind souls who have helped me on my path to the dark side, it's been most useful.

It's sure one complicated beast but enjoyable. I'm now leaving my first planet for the first time and am trying to progress as quickly as possible so that I can join you lot as singleplayers games are not my thing - playing with my mates is....

I think we said the guild is short of healers so if that's the thing of use and the thing that means I'll get to play with y'all the most then that's fine with me. I haven't yet chosen what path to take to take my BH but understand that Mercenary is the one which would be most useful to us as a guild (?). I'm on the Imperial station thing and think it's somewhere there where I go and choose (?).

I think I'm also too low to start on the crafting but am at that stage for crew skills - anyone come across a good guide on that and what one should go for - again, any particular thing needed for the guild (?).

Apart from that I guess I need to just keep grinding away and getting up to a suitable level.

Cheers

Yes, we seem to have have a load of tanks and dpsers. Allow our recent recruits seem to the tanks! As such, I've put my lvl38 jugg tank on hold and power leveling an operative healer, now lvl30.
Hopefully lvl40 by the end of this week and lvl50 week after :)

As to crew skills, I think we have them all covered, so pick one you fancy which your toon can use.

Yeah we will need healers for the op runs and endgame antics :)  As for crew skills have a look at the sections that we have also there a few links out there how to go about it :)

Nice to see you embrace the dark side, Pen. We all know the light is weak!

Playing a healer is sure to make you welcome in most groups all through out the game, not just the guild. DarkAngel also leveled as healer Merc all the way I believe, and seemed to have little trouble. Once you have chosen an advanced class though, you cannot go back. However you can still respec the talent tree from healer to dd and back as many times as your wallet can handle ;)

As for crew skills, go bio chem. Makes your life easier.

I'm finding this to be the case as well as my jugg tank did struggle in a lot of places, but I think the biochem perks are also making it a whole load easier.

Glad to see you're enjoying the game Pen.

If you're going for a healing role as a Bounty Hunter, you want to choose the Mercenary class and then start putting points into the Bodyguard skill tree. It's a good combo, since you can heal allies effectively but still have enough punch to go solo when you need to.

When it comes to equipment, you want to focus on making sure your 'Aim' stat is as high as possible - so make sure you hang onto anything that boosts this.

There's a nice guide on the SWTOR forums for Bh healing here (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=88364).

I assume you've just made it to Dromund Kass, give me a shout if you need a hand with any of the group quests there :)

At least those that play Assassin should seriously consider biochem. Some of the class missions were seriously draining on my economy on medpacks/stim alone. I would imagine the same goes for other glass canons and non-healing classes. Especially melee classes. The game is not very melee friendly!
