Title: Op groups names
Post by: smilodon on February 18, 2012, 11:57:24 PM
I've made a few posts regarding our achievements and plans for SW:TOR Operations and have been referring to the group simply as the 'First Op Group'. We're close to creating a second group and I'm not keen on just calling them 'The Second Group'. Both titles are pretty boring and while the first op group is obviously going to be ahead in raid progression than the second I don't want the second group to feel subordinate or inferior to the first. So how about a couple of names to describe the two groups? Sensible or silly, all ideas are welcome.

Dead Men Wiping
Blood, Sweat & Tears
Pink Oboe Brigade

Or, maybe pick Greek God names, leaving Zeus out.
So, Hades sounds nice :)

Why not just assign colors to the teams, like the callsigns in the SW movies?

OP1 could be The Avengers
OP2 could be the league of extraordinary gentlemen!

I'd like to see us avoid anything that implies superiority of one group over another.   I like Vargen's idea of using colours and think that would work well so long as we avoid podium colours!

Rgr that Pink leader, or would you rather be brown? ;)

I guess there are some colors we would want to avoid, like yellow, green and maybe pink ;)

I'm liking colours and I guess Vladic would like to be Red :) So maybe we can be Red Group and Blue Group? Which shorten nicely to RG and BG

I completely agree with TL this shouldn't be one better than the  other, as it already seem some people have this view. RG and BG sounds fine to me.  We will post up the final names ASAP.

Red Group (RG) Blue Group (BG) it is. I know they're not the most exciting names and some of the suggestions we're very funny but simple is good. So with Darth Tobious approval we'll have them.

It's now official, we have two raid groups

Red Group (RG) and Blue Group (BG). If we run a third raid group or decide to try a PvP Pre-made we can name them accordingly with additional colours.

Thanks for the link brah! Never thought I'd be interested in MLP... But this certainly woke an interest in the back of my head.
