Title: Riiiight...
Post by: A Twig on November 18, 2003, 01:30:47 PM
So there's no map boundaries, but we have to play as you would act in real life. So on de_train for example, would a CT be able to go up the ladder at the far outside end of platform 4.

It is a perfectly legitamite flanking maneuver when you know they are inside and you want more access routes to the bomb, BUT it could also be used (with a loada nades) to completely close off that section of the map. This however would appear not to be TCS.

So it is therefore surely a matter of timing, but then how do you know what is and what isn't timing, and WHAT ABOUT THE GERMANS?

I think that will solve itself, the T's will figure it and take your face off if you popped up that ladder.

If the T's are confirmed and planting merrily inside, I don't see why not, but it doesn't mean that someone could be wondering around up there whilst there is no confirmed bomb. You should be able to defend the bombsite from wherever you are, and you can't from that far away...my 2 cents, but I'm sure a big cuddly bear will come and correct me....who's it gonna be?

First question you should ask yourself. Will this help my team covering the bombsites. Initially probably not, but Yes you are allowed to go up the ladder at 4, but you can not rush there directly from spawn and remember that it should be a part of the TEAM strategy. Later in the round it could be the right thing to do.

TCS is no different from PCS other than there are no invisible lines on the map. All players still have to think about the team and the objective rather than getting an easy frag. If you are unsure stay within the old boundaries and you are always safe.

A famous member once said; There is no I in team!

Good judgement is the key word. Trust me if you don't have it the admins have size 15 army boots ... ;)

I understand the principle and think it will help us in clan matchs as there will be the option of flanking from the unexpected. i.e. on Aztec when T's rush double doors, it would be perfectly acceptable for a CT to flank through T's bridge room behind them.

Squonk nailed me 4 times in a row at the lan doing this so i have first hand experience of what a good move this can be. (especially if were used to PCS rules)

Still i just hope theres enough admins around to deal with people who
A: dont get the idea
B: respond to DMW members asking them to abide by the rules

If B happens just contact the admins. Get the SteamID and we will remedy the problem.

Quote2. Attitude / Community
A big part of what makes TCS what it is today is the sense of community people feel with each other. As part of this community, you should work to resolve and help fix problems you see in-game that are contrary to the TCS philosophy. If you see something that doesn't seem to work properly or fit in with ths philosophy, please make suggestions to help fix it by posting a message in the TCS Discussion section of the Forum. If you don’t feel comfortable posting your questions then please feel free to contact the Admins directly. With this in mind it is requested that players do not issue map votes themselves whilst there is an Admin on the server. If anyone has an issue with the particular map being played, please chat to the Admin on the server and let the Admin take appropriate action.

3. Teamplay
Teamplay is mandatory. If you fail to cooperate with your team then your team will lose confidence with you as a player and may file a complaint with an Admin as to your style of play. These complaints will be taken seriously and investigated. Deliberate 'Team Wounding' (TW), 'Team Killing' (TK), 'Hostage Wounding' (HW) and 'Hostage Killing' (HK) are strictly forbidden and as such are the quickest ways to achieve a kick/ban. If you wish to file a complaint about a certain player’s style of play, please send it to the Admins.

Just to reiterate what Sadako said, rushing up that ladder on your own to certain death (with no chance of sending a warning over the radio) is no help to your team as chances are you would be floored without a single kill.

So if its that kind of situation then I guess not to would be the best answer.

If there is not an admin around I suggest you do the following. When you have enough evidence send the demo to the admins and we will deal with the member.
