Rgt are running livestream with Torgen and Hal currently... If you dont know what it is...its what it says on the tin....livestreaming of what a char is upto on wow...
Many benefits for this....Every1 can watch this so we can get feedback from all regarding positions, what we are doing right or wrong etc so it would really aid RGW imo. Also if someone is sat outside the instance and not in on a new hc boss fight, instead of them being bored they can watch the vid and get a better idea of what happens.
I R useless with computers and i know it may be easy to setup but trust me its 1 more thing i dont want to have to worry about!
So looking for some1 to run it that can do easily (comp can run it without affecting wow and more computer minded than me)......
If no-one else does it maybe i can give it a go, seriously someone else volunteer...
Well i certainly wouldn't trust myself with it, and my computer mindedness (is there such a word?) is probably inferior to Switch's...
/sees Sithy gazing off into space instead of attacking the boss....
I don't think it's much of a strain on your CPU as it is on your Internet connection. It's pretty easy to test that once you get it set up though :-) I'm noticing 0 performance loss at least, and my PC is a strong one but not a NASA machine by any margin.
It's not that hard to set up either:
1. Set up an account here (http://new.livestream.com/accounts/new) and download and install the Livestream Procaster.
2. Fire up the application. You'll see a black window with a big red arrow that says 'Go Live'.
3. Set the dropdown below this arrow to "No Camera"
4. Set the dropdown one lower to the left to "Optimized gaming mode" and make sure the gamepad is blue (instead of the monitor).
5. Under Preferences, check the under Livestream tab, make sure Auto-record is turned OFF.
6. You can set some video parameters in the Video tab if your FPS is low or you want better quality output. I think I left it on default.
Then you should be ready to Go Live. It'll ask you to press Ctrl+F1 once you're in game. Other people can then check your stream at http://www.livestream.com/youraccountname.
I believe Derianez has already got an account etc, so he's basically ready to stream. :)
o0 so Deri has been volunteered by Hendrik....go go!
Torgen you lost me at...."its not that hard"..."download"..."procaster"
My pc should be good enough I think, but my upload speed ain't that high.. Will try it out for sure & see how it goes
As Torgen said, it's the upload speed that its usually the critical aspect, most modern CPUs are fast enough to do the rest. Set the upload resolution too low though and you make the viewing experience awful!

would be perfect if it works. for if ya are on the bench ya can still look and learn from fight :)
Gave it a try, seems to work fine. Upload wise there weren't any problems, but it does seem to use quite alot of CPU though.. (got an i5 750, 4gb ram). Will try it next week to see how it affects my WoW performance in raid :)
Make sure you have auto record turned off. Even though it writes to a server, not your disk, I recall that this gave me some performance issues.
I run on an i3 and I'm not even getting the slightest performance loss, so you should definetly be able to run it.
I ran it yesterday during the swtor raid, had no performance loss at all. Only problem was at some points that the program popped up again and i had a windows mouse ingame...
downloaded - installed - and opened the channel "hermioneg" at http://www.livestream.com/hermioneg
i tried a loop and all worked so i think im able to give the service
my pc spec:
Q6600
NVIDIA 9500 GT
8GB ram dual channel
connection: optical fiber 100MB/s download - 10MB/s upload
but my game video settings are a bit low .....
if you wanna try my channel.......
One thing to note concerning privacy matters:
Make sure you set your audio settings so it correctly transmits only game sound (or none at all if you so choose). By default it will detect microphone input, and transmit that as well, without any form of Push-to-talk. So any squeak you make will be heard. You should be able to set which sound devices you want to record/broadcast in the audio settings to remedy this. Corollary, even if you're broadcasting from the game, sounds from other applications will also be heard, if they're produced by the same soundcard. Something to keep in mind when you're off watching My Little Pony or... other ... stuff.. during the raid ;-)
Don't think my 2MB connection would take it (Yes, thats the fastest I can get where I live!)
it is your up speed that matters, mine is only around 0.40mb so mine is lagging allot the few times I start :P if you got 2mb up that's more then fine
i done some other experiments...
i think i must mute audio channel because in audio source options theres few ways only...
hermioneg channel have a dalay respect my original audio, the only choices for audio are : from mic from speakers from line in or a mix of these.. so if i use " from speakers" you also hear the sound of my TS .. but lags behind yours TS...very annoying
I will do more testing but if anyone knows a better way I'm here ..
What I have (and what stops the TS feeding over the stream as well) is my TS sounds go over my headset, which is plugged into my motherboard's onboard soundcard. My game sound comes from my speakers, which are plugged into my Creative Soundblaster soundcard. Both these soundcards appear as options to stream, so I just turn off the motherboard soundcard and all is good. If you have both coming from the same soundcard though, I don't think you can split them.
tested it on real raid (MoDW)... all gone fine (but without sound) 60fps...
Nice one herrmi ...Ill be bugging you for a link next raid :yahoo:
I have a channel too, but my old CPU just can't handle both WoW and the streaming. It just reinforces my need to upgrade my platform this year!
I would stream.. but then you can see all the things im doing wrong.. so thats not going to happen :)

lol, honesty ftw :)
I'm probably going to stream next Monday's raid.
You can all watch RGW on http://www.livestream.com/hendrikjaan (http://www.livestream.com/hendrikjaan)
Hope to have some viewers!
