Lost Island HM. Pugs are requiring rDPS only, the official forums are full of QQ about how unfriendly it is for melee.
So you would think that we would need awesome melee mDPS to clear? Well, we had to put up with Krek'la and Vargen but heh! Beggars can't be choosers ;)
At this point I'll mention that Krek's chair was a mini boss fight during the flashpoint which provided an endless source of japes and tom-foolery :)
Juggernaut Tank - Onyux (from Uncharted)
Operative Healer - me!
Assassin DPS - Vargen
Juggernaut DPS - Krek'la
Of the healing classes the Operative unique as all our big hits are .... melee based! So you could argue we had 4 melee as there were parts when the boss enraged forcing me to move into melee range and try and help burst him down.
Twisted Tips n Tricks
1st boss: kite him around edge. AoE and flames are easy to spot. Melee used common sense not to stand in front as well.
Platform button boss: op healer tip - ensure everyone has a KP and RN is always on CD as this is a very healing aoe intensive fight. Hardest fight for a healer here.
Bonus boss: When he's dropping ice, mDPS stand on each other and circle around him the same direction so they can still do DPS and avoid each others falling ice.
Last boss: Stay out of AoE (stacking dot WHICH CAN BE CLEANSED!). Surviving to final phase is more important than dps. Final phase - eveyone blows DPS cooldowns and does all they can. It's a soft enrage at this point. My healing strat was to dot everyone up (2x KP + RN) pop adrenal probe and go hell for leather DPS wise.
Voila, job done. No special snowflake rDPS was harmed in this :)
Well done.
Me, Icehawk, Krakenz and Krek'la tried it on Thursday with full melee group. Only had time for 5 tries on the first boss and got him to about 10%. Seemed doable with only melee was enrage that was causing problems with us. Haven't tried the other bosses.
Was fun trying something new :) Another note on the last boss. The DoT effect from the green stuff on the floor can be removed and resisted with Force Shroud or similar "remove harm" effects. I even got my last rakata piece :D

wd guys. Who got the rakata chest i wonder? :p
nice one! id love to run thru it some day
me 2 sharp
+1 here
Well, I tanked this tonight. Run took 2.5 hours to complete, but that was mainly me learning the fights as tank. After running it as tank and healer, I would say that it's harder than KP HM.
Voyak was a star healing us, and we earned the aratch ice speeder and 8 BH comms for completeing the rakghoul weekly (KuS HM + LI HM).
:D
I think if a raid is called, people should try their hand at this FP - it's fun and challenging!
Congrats guys sounds like a laugh.
Indeed, it was fun.. but i was 1h late for work today.. Forgot to turn on the alarm :P
Well if you fancy it I would like a go at it sometime :)

My alarm clock is always turned on. Sadly though I've yet to work out how to get the kids to wake me up at the correct time ;)

I'll be happy to tank it again. But I reckon Voyak will insist on at least one ranged DPS after he saw the 1st boss fight. Heck melee is gimped last boss also, but not nearly as badly
Hm.. i can give it a try with 2 melee dps but repairs for that should be payed from the bank :>
OT: yeah i dont know why i had those turned off :/
I'm up for it, but reckon i would need KuS cleared first

Yes, you do need to have cleared KuS either SM or HM first.
Quote from: Twisted;353789Yes, you do need to have cleared KuS either SM or HM first.
need to do that too
For the weekly, yes, but You can do it afterwards.
The storyline and quest is in order of 1. KUS 2. LI, so if You want to know and complete the quest story, which gives Corellia comms You can do that in that particular configuration.
