In you own opinions which driver would you say fits every game. I know the later ones tends to work amazing on one game but on another its unplayable "BF and halo"
Or do you all just use the latest one :)
opinions, quotes please ;)
The experience from from out latest LAN was that people had to go between two different NVidia drivers when switching between e.g. Halo and UT2003.
That is what you have to do until a better driver comes out or you can buy an ATI card and play any game you like without any problem. :P
I have an ATI but I think you already guessed that. :D

That's not strictly true. The 9700pro is so fast I can't play a game of solitaire without the card finishing the game for me!
Damn Solitaire haxors!! <_< :D
A newer version (53.03) with some fixes posted here (http://www.warp2search.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=15377)
haven't tried it yet - I use 52.16 WHQL which (to me) are excellent. Fixes listed in 53.03 include the following:
Updates to this driver:
- Improved support for HDTV Modes
Corrected the following issues from 52.16:
- Clone mode may be set for the GeForce FX 5600 although only one display is connected.
- GeForce FX 5950 Ultra: When 4x FSAA is enabled, half of the screen is black in Tiger Woods 2004 introductory video.
- GeForce4 MX 440 and GeForce4 Ti 4400, Windows XP: Blue-screen crash during Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat.
- GeForce FX 5950 Ultra: Homeworld2 antialiased performance is slow.
- GeForce FX 5950 Ultra and GeForce4 Ti 4400, Windows XP: Rendering corruption in Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat.
- GeForce FX 5950 Ultra, Windows XP: “X2: The Threat†benchmark is choppy or jerky in some places.
- All GeForce FX: Intermittently, Warcraft III videos are not displayed properly on some systems.
I have read that the idea of one driver for all Nvidia cards doesn't even begin to work. Each card has it's optimum driver. A g-Force 3 for example was listed as needing nothing newer than the 30.xx drivers. This sounds very suspect to me as I have a GF3 card and run the 52.16 drivers no problem. Halo and UT2003 ran fine at the LAN although Batlefields was a mess
Well in my experience when i had nvidia (though being almst 1 year ago) i always just used the leatest drivers.
Didnt care much for the difference in performance between the driver versions as they where never that great imho.
But now that i got nice ATI card i always use leatest, and never any problem :D
I have Windows XP Pro and Ti4200 and I think 43.45 is the best Detonator for my card :). I did a little "test" with a few different drivers and my conclusion was that the 43.45 is the best for HL, Halo and C&C Generals (the games I play) ;)
over and out!

Welcome Maddy :) Now back to the topic:
The bug fix list is symptomatic of drivers that are tweaked heavily to suit individual games. Write a proper driver and run it on good hardware and funnily enough you don't need to write these massive bug fix lists........

PowerColor Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB - £240.
If you can stretch to the Sapphire or Hercules then get one of those instead (generally better quality in performance and overclocking).
If ASUS bring out a 9800Pro before crimbo then go for that cos the quality of their 9800XT cooling system means you can overclock the nuts off it :D
You can get them cheaper than this if you can do without the 'package of goodies' that comes with the Retail pack and go OEM, and cheaper still by getting one shipped in from outside UK.
