Title: Where do we stand at the moment?
Post by: Grimnar on April 18, 2012, 04:03:43 PM
Well after reading all things going on the forum i am seeing a problem with both groups.

Now both groups are short in people for every raid they will do.

Also a recruiting message will go out but with all the spam from the other guilds i don't think we will get far.

So what for plan do we set in motion etc? Do we look at the groups and maybe merge them etc.
Any ideas?

I will start brainstorming aswell.

Agreed we have managed to possibly found one ranged dps he is thinking about it ATM.  The advertising has not brought people in but I think we should keep at it.

There is difficulty with combining the groups but we should keep it mind. Also i think as the weather gets nicer we will lose people as well.

But yes more thinking needed

Toby I hope you are OK with me posting here but I think the simple comment needs to be made that (from what I've seen in SWTOR (and hence why I stopped playing)) unless there are drastic changes in the game (plus the mechanics and raiding elements) you will be looking at reduced numbers. I dont want to be a nay sayer (sp?) because from what I played in SWTOR there were some very good elements

**** basically I think you need to devise a completely diffrent ethos to anything that we have played before to make it a sucess, following the WOW way will not work for this game, is the one thing i think needs to be embossed in big bold letters. The type of player that will push the game forwards within DMW is of a diffrent ethos to hard core WOW raiding.

I hope my comments are helpfull

I'd qualify that statement.  Following the WoW way to the letter will not work, but what Toby has been trying to do so far as I can tell is to not bother reinventing wheels where one has already been invented, patented and a large stock is already held.  MMOs are MMOs and there will be massive commonaility between different variants and we'd be daft to ignore that collective experience.   The trick is to use the current knowledge and mould it to the SWTOR game.

In my experience SWTOR is after the RP type player more than the raider, but that does not exclude promoting Op runs or supporting Op-interested people.

I'd also hate to see a completely different ethos developed for SWTOR.   dMw have a single ethos and it should be common across our entire community, so I'm not sure you actually meant ethos; perhaps methodology or strategy instead?
