Title: RGW: Raiding & MoP - Important
Post by: TeaLeaf on April 19, 2012, 10:38:26 PM
With the Mists of Pandaria expansion due later this year the RGW Raid Leaders & DMR Council wanted to outline some initial plans for RGW raiding in MoP and to find out from RGW members what their own plans are for raiding in MoP.

Can all RGW members please post in this thread if they intend to:

The intention is for RGW to start raiding as soon as possible into the expansion and progress quickly to build on our Cataclysm success.

PLEASE NOTE: For obvious reasons, if you intend to re-roll and change your main's class there is no guarantee that there will be a spot available in RGW for your new main.  Therefore, it is important that if you intend to re-roll that you let us know as soon as possible & re-apply to us for a raid spot with RGW.   Raid spots in RGW will be confirmed nearer the time.

I would like raiding in MoP. And I've been thinking about making my dk my main, preferably dps.

But, if the guild wants me to gear my paladin instead, as healer or tank, I could do that as well...

Will probably play MoP, and will most likely want to raid. If I'll be able to, can't tell that now. Will probably have a new job, maybe move to another place etc.

For class, so far I've always switched with each expansion. Priest in vanilla, mage TBC, DK wotlk, & now hunter.. Think I'll stick with hunter though :narnar: unless with all the changes it doesnt turn out to be fun playing. Then I'd change to warrior.. I think :) too early to tell!

I will put myself on tentative for raiding in Mop. I'm about to discuss a loan with the bank to buy my first house, wich will need renovating and everything else that comes with it.
So this means i will have to give up all free time i might have. No idea exactly when this will happen though --> Tentative :)

I'll be around in MoP :) As to what to raid with, I'm pretty flexible on that.  Whatever you guys need can be the priority :)

First of all i didn't knew in what raid team topic i should post as i have been an rgt raider before.

But here we go, this kitty sneaks in quiet again and signs up as dps with tank offspec for either team that wants me / needs me.

Update: I'm playing the MoP beta and probably wont choose to keep playing as Treach unless they change the current Bear setup (changed to attack generates Rage which is used for defencive abilities, like dodge!)

I got a new job (yay!), started there earlier this week. It will require me to work both early & late shifts, so that might be a problem when it comes to raiding in the future.. But this (normally) won't be the case until very late this year or maybe even early 2013, since atm I'm still in an 'education' phase. Might be a bit late from time to time in the next couple of weeks for the invites (which I'll post in time on the forum or text Nims/Hendrik) but I should normally be able to make it before 20:15.

So yea, just giving the heads up when it comes to MoP I won't be able to have a high attendancy..

in my honest opinion you should combine both groups and form a 22 man and 3 woman raid group. would solve a lot or problems

Post by: JonnyAppleSeed on June 23, 2012, 05:37:08 PM
If only it was that easy ... one problem being that we don't have 25 that can make the same raid days
Title: RGW: Raiding & MoP - Important
Post by: Switchback on June 23, 2012, 08:17:45 PM
What jas says ^^ i can only make 2 nights a week so the 3rd night you would be a healer down....im not the only 1 who cant do 3 nights so you would need really 37-40 commited raiders for 1 good 25man grp imo, that would cover the 2night people and general absence etc. It wont happen. TBH i dont want it to happen. we have a great time in guild and we have a great time in our 2 10man grps.
If its not broke dont try to fix it :P
Totally agree TL ^^ it will be all good and hopefully a few old faces will emerge to bolster our grps :)

Title: RGW: Raiding & MoP - Important
Post by: TeaLeaf on June 23, 2012, 11:17:28 PM
There's one hell of a lot of logistical problems in switching between 10 & 25 man Sith, it's simply not that practical as tactics, abilities & strategies for mitigation will differ between 10 & 25 man.  We have some raiders who struggle to cope with one set of tactics, let alone having to remember a second version of the fight with a second set of tactics for use once per month.   Frankly, that sounds like a recipe for raid wipes.  And let's not forget that when you factor in heroics you'd end up learning 4 versions of the same fight!

Doing a 25 man on a single night once per month is a non-starter, think about it.  That's before we even get into the fact that you'd not have enough people to field 25 on all of the proposed days.

If we need more 10 v 25 man discussion let's open it in a new thread please.  In the mean time let's get this one back on topic please!

Still on my exploration of chars, really lving my old main atm. Good ol' priest. Looking likely he'll be my MoP choice atm. (DK's are just too boring, very similar play style across all specs)

Just need to find some willing guinea pigs for me to "heal" and once I'm happy I'll be all set :)

Switch and the Officers have been monitoring and undertaking MoP-planning with the data that's in this thread with the intention of giving RGW the best possible chance to succeed in the new raid content.  More info will follow in due course and we'll be talking to people who intend to re-roll or restart raiding about the availability of places in RGW's MoP raid team nearer the time.

Holysith  priest  lvl as Holy
All at lvl 85 but can level something else if needed

Guess I'll give an update; the new job I'm working at isn't what I expected it to be, not really happy here and I'm looking for a new job atm. More a monday to friday, nine-to-five kind of job & closer to home. So might be able to raid 'normally' again if I got something new. Can't tell when ofcourse, but the sooner the better

As for class, still prefering the hunter :) Wouldn't mind changing main if it fits the group better, but well I want to be a dps at least :narnar: warrior, mage or ele shammy are also enjoyable to play for me..

i`m still watching the disc priest trees, as they not outstanding, and if its still viable, i`ll continue to heal... However if like last year where i came within typing distance of using the word DELETE, i`ll be using something different, as the beginning of cata was a nightmare for all us disc priests :/

I'm pretty sure that people know this, but it is clear from this thread that there are more people interested than we have raid spots in RGW, so there will be some disappointed people.  Nothing we can do about it, we'll just try to sort the group as best we can.

if there is that many people could it not be formed into a 3rd raid grp???

would seem like the most logical course of action would be to set out both RGT and RGW and then look into forming a 3rd raid grp for all the extra people who want to raid. but tbh it might be a idea if we could get a list up of all the intrested parties so we can all see how many there are, maybe edit the first post with a list of names for us all to see. hmm i may be wrong or i might not be but seems otherwise there might be a lot of people who are going to be feeling left out.

Aye we saw your post Sneaky.   We have a central list of those who expressed interest via this thread and are working out which places if any are available.  You'll appreciate that there's not always a space available when one is wanted, so we have to see what is possible within the constraints of the tier token groups and overall raid balance.   We'll be posting more info shortly on the progress so far so people will know if they got a slot in RGW or alternatively what sort of queue is forming for their class in RGW.
