Title: Using the available time on a map

Using the available time on a map

When playing on a map it is important to use the available time. On N42 PCS (http://www.xlii.com ) for example each round is seven minutes and here on dMw it is five minutes. On public servers it is usually 4 or 5 minutes. The time left is usually more important to the attacking team. You must have enough time left to plant the bomb and have it go off or to get the hostages back to the rescue point. By playing the maps you will get a feel of how long it will take to move from one position to another.

Use the available time to complete the objective. It is often better to take your time instead of constantly rushing. By walking and crouch walking you make no sound to give yourself away.

Hint:
You can start your own server and run, walk or crouch walk a certain distance e.g. from spawn to either bomb spot and check how much time it takes to move in the different modes.

What to do when dead

If it is possible to view the enemy in spectator mode when dead do so.  You should use both the overview and the first person view mode. See how the enemy move, where they camp and try to figure out why they are doing it and how to counter act their move. Also try to see if there is a pattern to the enemy’s movement. Does the same enemy go to the same place/side or camp the same spot every round?
Also use the time to get to know the map. Take a look at all the routes and dangers/advantages with each route.
All players have their own style of play. Study a player an entire round (or more) and try to pick up something that you could add to your style. See how they aim, what weapons they use, and how and where they advance to improve your own play.

Because some people on MH recently act like they've never played CS before and wouldn't know what PCS was if it painted itself orange & pink and danced around the bomb-carrier whilst chanting the 1947 English cricket team batting averages, or indeed that time is a factor which can work in your team's favour when defenders are waiting for an attack to arrive.

In the latest weeks on MH I have seen many rounds go almost the full time and even running out.
What we all have to realise is what to do when time is running out. As T on a de_map you must have at least 48 seconds (2.5 for planting and 45 until explosion) left if you have your mind set on planting the bomb. If you are no where near being able to completing your objective and time is running out you have to consider the following.

1. Fall back and save your gear for next round. Picking up the best weapon you find on the way. You might not like the gun yourself but your team might benefit from it. Trade at spawn if you like.
2. Try to take out the enemy one by one. Use the wear down tactic. http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=389 (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=389)

As CT on hostage maps you must know how much time it takes to get from hostages to rescue zone running knife out. Then add twice as much time for eventual firefights.

Keep an eye on the clock.

Quick question only slightly related to this topic:-

If -as on Aztec as T- you were to wait out the enemy in spawn on pistol round how much money would you gain??
Doing this the enemy has to either come to you or wait at bomb sites but either way you live to have money and buy a decent weapon next round.

I know that this is a really slack tactic but when playing a team that at first glance appears to be head and shoulers better than us why not give it a try..

I posted the current reward system here:

To answer the question: as T on a bomb map it would mean that you would lose by default if time runs out. Next round you will get $1400.

Either Team Loses over 2 Consecutive Rounds
$1400 + $500 per round over 2 (to maximum $2900) for team members.
