Post by: Sparko on May 25, 2012, 07:18:17 PM
Thats right ladies! RO2 Free Weekend has started via Steam - and even better its the newly released GOTY edition so get your download now and have a go.....you have nothing to lose!!!

Trailer for the GOTY Edition (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uy-icZqyfuA#!)

Quote from http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com:
QuotePolish up your rifles and grab some ammo â€" the Game of the Year Edition for Red Orchestra 2 has just been released! From now until Sunday 27 May, Red Orchestra 2 multi-player will be available completely free to play for everyone on Steam so get out there and give the game a try. Not only is the game free this weekend, but if you decide to pick it up before Monday we’re selling it at 75% off! We’ve also created a trailer to showcase the new content added in the free GOTY Content Pack including the new map Mamayev Kurgan.

In case you’ve forgotten â€" the GOTY Content Pack is, of course, free to everyone who already owns the game and includes:

“Action” mode â€" Featuring a crosshair, easier aiming and toned down recoil, reduced damage and open access to a wide range of weaponry Action mode is the perfect first step for players into the world of Red Orchestra.
“Classic” mode blends the gameplay innovations of the new game with the tactical and edgy gameplay of the original giving the fans of the first game exactly what they want.
Mamayev Kurgan â€" complete new map, featuring both close-quarters battles in trenches and bunkers, as well as longer ranged combat across the famous hill in Stalingrad
Refined and improved gameplay across the board, vehicle improvements, and way better performance and polish. We listened to the community and based on their feedback refined and tweaked almost every major feature in the game!

So don’t miss out, the free weekend is on now! Grab the game from Steam

Myself and the admins will try to organise something over this weekend on our server if people fancy it.  If you have any questions about the game at any time grab me on steam or Teamspeak.  Im sure Blunt and Snokio would be happy to help too if im not around.

Also Rising Storm the long awaited DLC is due out later this year, you can find details here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?34138-Expansion-on-the-radar)

N.B for people that already have the game there is a new patch you need to download its around 5gb so get it downloaded and dont miss out

I haven't been in game tonight, but the server has been rammed for most of the evening, is this the free weekend effect or the new patch?

If you don't already have this game it's available this week on a pay what you like (minimum $1 for RO and RO2 with the soundtracks). If you pay more that $2.88 (or the average at the time of purchase) you get Killing Floor too.

Current steam Prices:
Killing floor: £14.99
Red Orchestra: £6.99
Red Orchestra 2: £14.99

(DVD editions cost less but RO2 alone is £7 on amazon).

Check it out:

(These are for Steam keys. I've picked up so many good games on steam and Android from this site it's ridiculous, and you can choose how your money gets split between the site, the developer and charity).

If you don't like steam you should still check out Humble Bundle regularly because the majority of their games are sold completely DRM free and cross platform for Linux, Mac, PC and Android (where versions exist).
