Title: Never try to rob a thief....
Post by: ArithonUK on June 08, 2012, 12:05:25 PM
There has been mutterings online about the price of BattleField Premium and the possibility of getting it cheaper from a "grey" source. To whit, using an Indian proxy server to make the purchase for £17 instead of the wallet-gouging £40 we get charged for this DLC.

However, EA (who recently commented that Steam's "going out of business" 75% off sales were very bad and "damaged the value of game IP's") have a zero-tolerance policy on bargains and won't put up with anyone who won't doesn't pay full price.

A number of BF3 forums are now sprouting posts like this:-

Quote from: IFORGOTCAPSLOCKI bought Battlefield Premium the day after it came out with a Indian proxy. Today I got this email from EA:

Quote from: EAA refund has been generated for your order as a result of your  request, the fulfiller's request, incorrect address, or a refused  shipment.

Refund details:  Order ID: 15504492445  Amount: Rs.1,499.00
  Thank you, Origin

My friend bought it at the same time using the same method and he  hasn't got the service inactivated and refunded but I'm guessing it's  just a matter of time.

So, you have been warned. Or as Yoda would say "Buy or do not buy, there is no cheaper!"

Are you not upset that we all are not paying Indian prices?

If the people who found the proxy in the first place kept it tight lipped rather than discussing the exploit on the battlelog forums they might have gotten away with it too if it wasnt for those pesky EA devs.

Here's the punchline....

Each expansion pack is going to be £11.99, so three times £12 = £36 !!! (Since most people already have Karkand) Buying the other three expansions would still be cheaper than "Premium" and SAVE you £5.

Way to suck at mathematics EA!

what i the punch line is wrong?
yeah most people have Karkand, but that still leaves 4..

Back to karkand*
Close Quarters
Armored Kill
Aftermath
End Game

4x12 = 48£.. changes it a bit doesnt it..
+ the exclusive content? We know you cant live without the ingame kitchen knife
Not trying to defend EA for their actions (they are a bunch of >Insert a lot of bad words here<) but i cant really see the fuzz about this
But its either 5 DLC's or they just release 2 expasions @ 40£ a piece over the next 1½ years instead

No not really... i probably make equivalently more in salery compared to the average Indian... Id love to buy for that price, but im not upset that were not allowed
