Hey all, Serious Issue here for once, A relative of my extended family, who is rather elderly being around 68+, has invested money in the sum of around £60000 or more into a company called World Future (Link provided Below) now Me and my stepfather being the resident IT members of our extended families have been attempting to find information on this "small investment" company to assertain if it is a Scam or just a legitimate company, here are the brief facts as they are known:
- £60000 pounds Overall has been invested within this company with the first sum of return money to have been paid at the start of June, this did not arrive
- When accessing the link below for the website, whilst the website may be functional and genuine looking, scrolling to the Right and selecting either "News & Updates" or "Risk Assesment" display's either a page detailing no information at all or not even being an active link.
- Any previous contact by this company has either been to aquire further investment money through any means, one phone call even asked "Do you have anything you can sell?", this is one of the key things that points towards it being as scam as well as the fact that the company itself cant be located on any market information.
- The elderly relative has essentially used up there vast cash reserves to fund said investment in the hopes of good return to fund his remaining life/give inheritence, however in the event that this is (more then likely) a scam, what can be done for that relative?
- The company contactors are all Asian women or Asian Males, this may just be due to the call centre being in a foreign country due to cheaper pay rates but if this info helps figured it should be listed.
Supplied Web Address - http://www.world-future.co.uk/
Essentially What I am asking is for anyone who knows where the relevant information can be found or any potential idea's for finding said information please list in the post below, thanks for reading.

From 10 minutes of Googling, things don't look good.
Get all the information you can together, company registration numbers etc and check against what I found.
1. The Canary Wharf address given is for a virtual office company, so they handle mail and post as a forwarding service.
Lvl 37, 1 Canada Square = Abbey Business Centres (http://www.abbeyoffices.com/locations/virtual-offices/london-canary-wharf-e14/)
2. Easy Who Is shows the owner of the domain registration as Eren Metcalfe, the domain expired a week ago.

3. Company Director Check shows a couple of Eren Metcalfe's, but this one seems like it's the one because of the next thing I found.
Eren Metcalfe (http://company-director-check.co.uk/director/915564781)
4. Companies house info doesn't look good and the address given for the company matches the address above for Eren Metcalfes active directorships.
Companies House (http://companycheck.co.uk/company/07662439)
5. The director of 'Future World Ltd' is James Ward.

Who is also a director on the same companies as Ms Metcalfe.
6. Following article in the London Gazette

If the numbers match up, I really hope they don't, then you need to contact the people in the article in number 6 and make sure you are on the creditor list.
Searching over the net for you.
Here's what I've come across.

At the bottom of those pages the FSA say:
Quote from: FSAWhat to do if you have been scammed
If you are concerned about an investment in carbon credits you should stop sending money to the firm and individuals involved. If you have given them your bank account details, tell your bank immediately.
You should then contact our Consumer Helpline (http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/consumerinformation/consumer_contact/index.shtml). Please provide as much information as you can about your investment and the company involved, including their contact details and ‘firm reference number’ (FRN) if they claim to be authorised by us.
Collect all the paperwork and any details of contact, including how they first contacted (the sales call probably) and then contact the FSA for further advice and assistance. It could be legit, but even if it is legit you might struggle to get money out if you're only trading small volumes of carbon credits (e.g. £60,000).
Unfortunately, from what has been said above it does not appear to be legit at all. Good luck with it.
After putting all your information together with some we already possessed due to paperwork etc, we have essentially discovered that the Company in question entered either Purposeful (scam) or just regular liquidation and that the individuals who owned it have multiple companies currently experienceing the same situation and that the liquidator is situated above a bloody pharmacy :( so essentially it is a scam in one form or another, stepfather has gone to talk to the relatives daughter today about it as due to his age he is becoming more gulllible/fragile mentally so they are going to potentially seek power of attourney, thanks all for the help, info for this company was particularly hard for me to find as knowing nothing at all about how investment companies works makes google searches practically useless.
Thanks for all the Help, Case .Closed
Hi Vladic I too have been caught by James Ward of World future and invested a similar amount. I have been in touch with the FSA and forwarded details.
I am looking into recovery some of my investment and wonder if combining our resources may help
Sadly J_wyatt my family member involved has decided not to persue recovery due to severe embarresment at being taken for a ride/tricked, however all the above information is free to use if it will help ya, however due to fact on the scale of creditors your most likely "small fry" recovery will return most likely small ammount in the region of 5 -10k if ure lucky, discovered this when enquiring to another source
If at all possible, urge that the FSA are involved, it's only by pursuing these bar staewards that they eventually get jailed and other people don't get taken for the same ride.
Dear Vladic ... please, please, please try to get your relative to report this incident. Like j_wyatt above and myself, there are many people who have been scammed by James Ward, the director of World Future. We are all very angry, hurt and embarassed about having been taken for a ride but if we do not do anything about it then the only people who will win out are the likes of James Ward. This company is now under investigation and the more people we can get together the better chance we have of action being taken. Take a look at the posts on the lovemoney.com website http://www.lovemoney.com/qanda/question/171457/carbon-credit-traders for guidance on the best course of action your relative can take (essentially contact Action Fraud and the official invetigator). If you can, get your relative to send me an e-mail at KnoMore@live.co.uk as a number of World Future's victims are now banding together.
Regards,
KnoMore
Good advice there, the more you can get together with others having faced the same issues the better and the stronger your position.
Good luck to you all
Sadly Knmore the relative in question has passed recently so it will no longer be possible, and his family have decided to take this no further due to the emotional issues etc they are currently going through, I myself can no longer persue this due to my new job commitments leaving me very little time.
Vladic
Sorry to hear that :(
