Title: Do you have Steam problems?
Post by: Dr Sadako on November 26, 2003, 09:25:28 PM
Sometimes when Steam Updates it goes wrong, but sometimes also inbetween map changes. When you try to play CS you can't connect to the server. Another symptom is that you can't refresh the server list.

If you try and connect to a Linux-server you will crash it!

What you must do is the following:

1. Shut down steam
2. Delete the ClientRegistry.blob
3. Restart Steam and it should start updating.

This will give you (hopefully) a fresh update that will work.

I do hope it did! You need the registry.blob-file to play the game, BUT if it is faulty you need to do the steps I presented above to get a new working one.

Yeah, I already knew this but in 8 outta every 10 cases it works! Just try it and don't forget restarting else you can't play :P.

Any of you know if this helps the "Error! Server Verification Failed!" error?

Cuz it bites me...  <_<

yeah.

Do the next thing:

Log out of steam and restart it then log in again.

That should do it.
