thoughts on the game?

Runs like a dog on my laptop, but it's a bit old now. Other than that it's the same gameplay I remember from the original with some improvements. I like it, even though there are many features still missing in beta. :)
I'm actually considering a new PC just on the merits of this game.
With Planetside 2 launching on the 20th and being free to play, maybe we should look at getting some dMw involvement? It is definitely a very team-focused FPS and the huge scale is impressive.
With it being just a week to launch they have given out stacks of beta keys to all testers, so if anyone wants an early look and doesn't already have a key, let me know.
I'd like a gander please b00n :)

Outfits they're called in PS2, and yes, don't see why not. :)

Downloading now - I'll make sure I jump into the same faction/server.

Going New Conglomerate

Enjoyed the hour and a bit I spent with this last night, but it's a beast of a game and not easy to play alone.
We need a Teamspeak channel :-)
Sent from my Galaxy S3 LTE.

It's usually a good idea to join a public squad/platoon when you log in, most of the better ones organised by the big outfits will be using the in-game VOIP to give directions from the platoon leader, down to the squad leaders, then down to the grunts. If you're playing NC on Eurydome, look for squads run by 252nd or SOI, they are usually running a full platoon.
I'll be on sometime tonight, my character is called Drueth, or you can ping me on steam. :)
Beta closed now - launch is tomorrow though :)
Indeed free from steam:

Can we get a TS channel created?
I've just joined the Ceres server, as New Conglomerate if anyone fancies a game.
Ceres? Is that an EU server? The only EU servers when I started playing a couple of days ago were Woodman and Miller. I'm on Miller playing as TR, Battle Rank 11 or 12 I think and having great fun - found a bunch of people who actually use voip and tactics. I was beginning to think that zerging was the only valid tactic in the game but it seems that applying a bit of strategy and coordination works wonders. :)
Bumping this again, I'm now rank 17 or 18 and still having a blast. The progression system in the game is very much geared towards Sony wanting you to either subscribe or buy unlocks, however those averse to such things will be pleased to hear that all vehicle and weapon enhancements in the game can eventually be acquired without paying a penny. Frankly in a game that's free I don't have a problem with microtransactions, it allows you to ignore the bits that don't interest you (tanks in my case) and pay for enhancing the bits you enjoy (aircraft pew pew!).
The teamplay and co-ordination required to take control of a continent remains the best part of this game for me, although it does mean acknowledging a chain of command and following orders. :flirty:
Having played the beta some time ago I've somewhat forgotten this game a little....Does it take long to rank up? I remember getting lost on the game struggling to find anyone to kill during beta & when I did I got owned.
