Title: RGW Raid Leaders for MoP
Post by: TeaLeaf on August 13, 2012, 06:25:29 PM
DMR Council have been working hard with Switchback to implement an infrastructure that will allow RGW the best possible chance of raid success in MoP when the new content is released.   In particular we would like to thank both Sithy & Sharp for stepping up to assist Switch in his role as RGW Raid Leader during some of the Cataclysm content.

Over the past couple of months we've been monitoring what people have posted in the 'RGW & MoP' thread and have been planning RGW's future in MoP around this information.  We've also been trying to address the imbalance in classes and tier token groups that RGW has had to endure.   As with the changes needed within RGT, the RGW raid group will also need to accommodate some changes to redress the imbalances currently in place and to give the whole team the best opportunity for success.  You'll see some of these changes announced shortly and we'd like to thank those who will need to adjust to a new role in MoP.

Part of the planning undertaken has identified a need for additional support to be in place to assist Switch run the RGW raids and to take over some of the out of game workload that being a raid leader entails.   Make no mistake, a raid leader's job is not an easy one in-game and it gets worse out of game when you understand the amount of admin and time you have to invest to keep the raid running smoothly.    DMR Council would like to thank Switch for his herculean efforts to date; RGT run with 4 officers sharing the out of game workload and Switch has largely dealt with this on his own.

To rectify this situation, DMR Council are pleased to announce, with Switch's full inclusion & support in this decision, the appointment of 2 additional raid leaders to work alongside and for Switch, to form a new 3 person RGW leadership team.  Our congratulations go to:

Ice Hawk (Grimnar) and Mariotet who are promoted to the RGW Raid Leader rank.

Ice Hawk has a long raiding history with DMR and spent considerable time in RGT before taking a raid break last year and then returning to RGW this year.  Mariotet has only recently joined DMR, but is well known to Switch who worked with him in a previous guild.  Mario has considerable raid leading experience and together with Ice Hawk & Switch will help form a formidable management team for RGW.  Together they will share the out of game workload with Switch, help run the various systems RGW require and put their considerable experience towards helping RGW's achieve great raid success in MoP.

The changes being made are opportunities for RGW success.   Please help make RGW an even greater success in MoP!

Want to say a big thankyou to Sharp and Sithy. Sharp did a great job with the tactics and keeping people in order and Sithy covered a range of jobs. Big thanks chaps.

Grats to Grim and Mario. Looking forward to the new team to lead RGW in MoP. As has been said we all know Grim and his experience will be greatly recieved. Mario is new to DMR yet i have known him for a long time and again his experience in leading will be invaluable.

RGW has performed their best i feel in the last 6 months. It has been hard work...We have seen many people come and go, due to many reasons. I foresee a great future under this leadership.

Alot of work has been going on for a few months now behind the scenes. I'd like to take this oppourtunity to thank the council in the support they have given me these last couple of months and the work that has been put in for the restructuring of RGW in preperation for MoP.

Thanks to all you raiders! Without you lot, RGW would be nothing :P We have been very successful and we want to improve on this and under the new leadership team I know we will :yahoo:

Sharp, try not to be bitter as I do not want this to become a mud-slinging match.  If you want to know the reasons why then I will be happy to tell you on a one to one basis.  Neither of the new appointments are 'new' or fresh, they both have considerable experience, so let's work together on things please.   I'm on TS right now if you want to talk.

I here ya Sharp, I'm not even considered a Raider anymore. Moved down to Social, iv'e been online for the last 2 weeks on Raid nights and asked if I'm needed, to which the answer on all 4 occasions was no.

Cheers Guys, Thanks.

Jewelz, I don't mean to be rude, but I think it was your unexplained absences prior to the last 2 weeks that led to the demotion, not the last two weeks where you unexpectedly turned up.

It was an administrative error to have not demoted you at the beginning of May when you last disappeared and Switch raised it as a problem.  You'd been a no-show for over 3 weeks at that point and had not responded to contact from Switch.  What else was he to presume?  You only started raiding again in March and by the end of April had missed almost 50% of the raids and most of the last month without any reason as to why being provided.

I'm sorry, but your record of turning up as a healer for RGW has not been particularly consistent and when long periods of unexplained absence occur then the raid group is entitled to move on without you as has happened in this case.    After you left, your spot had to be covered mainly by alts and offspecs until others were recruited to fill the gap.   It was simply not fair to the rest of the raid group to leave them without a reliable group of healers.
