I've just placed an order with BT to migrate my FTTP service from Brightstar to BT. Allegedly they will come to my home to 'install' the fibre that is already installed on Thursday 13th September. BT are retailing the FTTP for a lower price than they sell it wholesale to Brightstar and I reached a point where the £130 per month FTTP bill exceeded my loathing of BT when they provide the same product for a loss-leading £35pm.
Frankly I do not trust BT at all, because as FTTP is so new there is still no official migration process to follow. Thus I have not been asked for a MAC code, have not been asked for any details about the current FTTP service I have and it's therefore highly likely to go completely tits up. This post is to warn you if I go offline for a period without warning.
Clearly with the raid break being in-force at that point I am aiming to get this all sorted & resolved in the gap before MoP launches.
Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it.
See you next year :P
Good luck TL, I hope it all goes better than you think it will :D
Still no net or telephone. Love BT. Not.
My personal guess is Friday.

Bad news. I'm back.
damn we had it so nice and quiet in here without you :P
Welcome back!
Whats the verdict on the new connection ? Have you come back stronger than we could ever imagine !
110 Mbps down, but only 15 Mbps up. Seems solid though at the moment, ping to BA4 is 5ms so it appears a slightly quicker route to London than the one they give to Brightstar.
