Title: What is the dMw Shop?
Post by: TeaLeaf on September 23, 2012, 09:02:42 PM
For a start the dMw Shop is a hugely under-used facility that helps support the running costs of the community.   It's essentially a window into the Amazon website, framed with the dMw logo and linked within our forums.  If you want to see what it looks like then click the 'Shop' link in the forum top bar.

dMw earns a 'commission' every time you use this 'shop' to purchase goods from Amazon.   At the moment we need another 13 orders to bump our commission rate up to the next level.

We used to earn quite nicely from the store when it was first set up, but over time it seems that people have forgotten about it and not used it - the 2012 earnings are only just over £10!    However many people within the community will use Amazon to purchase items, so why not do it through the dMw Shop?

If you or your family/friends use Amazon a lot, why not set yourself/them up with a web brower bookmark to the dMw Shop and then get them to buy through it?  Every penny earnt via the Amazon Shop goes towards supporting the costs of our hosting, bandwidth, rented game servers and software licencing.

Please buy via the dMw Shop!

Do you know if kindle books found via the dMw shop count? I've just ordered "Ready Player One" but it forced me onto amazon to make a kindle purchase.

It's showing up on the order list under our Affiliate account, so yes it seems to count.  Thanks you for the order :)

I've never bothered with it before because I just hate the layout of it, bit of a crap reason I guess, but there you go.

On a related note, if I go through the link & whatever I order just sits in my basket until I order it that'll still count right? I've been pricing up a load of pc parts & Amazon seems to have just about everything I want cheaper than anywhere else, I'm still at the indecisive stage of the purchase for now tho.

Probably depend on how long it's been in your basket.
