Agree with that list, however although Brosnan wasn't a terrific Bond actor, I think his looks fit the image Bond better than any other.

Sean Connery is the only true Bond for people of my generation, but
Daniel Craig is excellent in the role too.
I'd put Brosnan above Moore, but then again I'd put Compo above Moore.
I wouldn't give a fig for Moore, he should've stuck to corny TV roles.

Early Connery, Craig, Lazenby, Brosnan, Moore, Dalton.

I'm beginning to swap the first two around. Craig is a great Bond.

Daniel Craig
Sean Connery
(Timothy Dalton)
George Lazenby
Pierce Brosnan
David Niven
Roger Moore

To be honest Toby Stephens in the BBC radio plays would sit quite near the top of my list, although are radio performers actors? Even  Barry Nelson was a better Bond than Moore even though he played Bond as a Yank and was called Jimmy Bond

If we're talking Radio Bonds, then the great Bob Holness must get a mention

Connery
Brosnan
dunno.

I really don't like Daniel Craig. I'm sure he's the perfect bond for the 21st Century but he doesn't do it as Bond for me.

Sean Connery
Daniel Craig
Pierce Brosnan
Jimmy Saville
A hedgehog
Roger Moore
David Niven
George Lazenby

I'm of the Connery era so it's a no brainer, but I do disagree with some of the above on the lower orders.

Did no one like Dalton?

I'm surprised at that...
My list is:
1. George Lazenby
2. Daniel Craig
3. Timothy Dalton
4. Sean Connery
   Roger Moore
6. Pierce Brosnan

Brosnan was too soft for the modern age bond he was portraying. It was a fun effort, but not entirely there.
Dalton is high up on the list mainly for his work in Licence To Kill. I've always enjoyed the darker aspects of the Bond character, and nowhere is it more apparent than in that movie. No lofty ideals, no noble goals. Bond is out for revenge, pure and personal revenge. Craig is the same, perfect for the darker turn the movies have taken.

The reason why Lazenby is so high up on the list is he was the first Bond actor with the chops to make Bond show emotions. The ending scenes of On Her Majestys Secret Service where he breaks down crying is the only time Bond cries as far as I know. After all, it is the event that colors the characters relationship with women in many movies to come. It's also referenced in Licence To Kill. It is, after all, one of the major motivations behind his killing spree.
"Was it something I said?" "He was married... once."

The reason Connery and Moore share fourth place is that the list is so tight at the top. It's slight margins making the list as it is, it's only the darkness of Craig and Dalton that pushes them up past Connery and Moore.
Basically, you can say that Lazenby is at the top, the rest share second place, and Brosnan takes up the rear with a 6th place.

As for Lazenby, that guy should really kick his agents ass. He was offered a seven Bond-movies deal, and turned it down because he wanted twice the salary of Connery. Idiot.
Fine Bond-actor though.

Rats I missed Dalton. Yes he'd be up there on the list for the reasons Faust82 mentioned.

Hedgehog was pretty good, but I think Brosnan was less convincing as being human.... I mean actor

To get your James Bond name, simply take your surname, then your first name, then your surname.

What is it with you young people and Pierce Brosnan? Granted, he might have been the first Bond you saw, and the first one is always special unless it's a fumbling drunken attempt. Which his was! :p

Golden Eye was a good film and Bond was back when it seemd like the franchise had died post Dalton. I quite liked the first of his performances but the scripts went south very fast after that.

And the award for the biggest avatar goes to...... :flirty:

have to agree, Brosnan films were not that good, but you could partially blame the script for that one.... Invisible cars......really?  Think that why I prefer Craig so much more, a full reset and it worked :thumb:

Pierce Brosnan was fine as bond..... as for the latest two movies its the format I don't like.... if I wanted to watch borne I'd watch a borne movie.... bond movies were always meant to be a bit silly, thats what set it apart

I don't even think it's the fact they use to be a bit silly (they had some right cheesy one liners) but it's the fact Daniel Craig (James Bond) Doesn't drink his martini shaken not stirred anymore am I right in saying there is product placement in the new movie for Heineken? as as well as the terrible advert.
