Thanks :thumb: do you know what height he needs to be at before he jumps?
Target was 120k ft, but he's over that atm and the baloon is still rising.
Outside pressure is now 0.07psi...... that's as close to space as to make no odds. Amazing to think this was first done by a guy in 1960 from an open gondola.
just watched it was on sky
Nice. Shame he didn't get the longest freefall though. That says something about Kittinger's effort.
That was most impressive well played
Superb viewing and a terrific achievement but 'Mission Control' was a bit amateur-hour wasn't it?
I dunno, the old boy doing the talking in mission control kinda reminded me of Lameduck :flirty:
thought it was guy who held the previous record in the 60's
May well have been. I know Kittinger was an advisor.

Well I've got to be seen doing something now that I've retired from dMr
Great achievement, the boy done good.
Thoroughly enjoyed the livestream, terrific viewing and oooooooooooooh WHAT A RUSH!
The view I thought was stunning and it's the sort of humbling, eye-opening vista that I'd pay good money to get an opportunity to see in person. When the capsule was lower the view brought back memories of 'normal' sky-diving, in which I always remember the slight curvature of the earth from 13,000ft and the halo effect of the sun reflecting from the horizon off both land & cloud, but the view from his capsule was breath-taking. Green? Hell yeah.
It will be interesting to see BBC's documentary which will come out in about a month, definitely one I will be watching.
The view from his balloon when it got to altitude was amazing. Must be a pretty humbling sight.
